  1. Golden Jubilee was our favorite place for fancy drinks on Celebration.
  2. We were on Celebration last month and that was definitely not our experience at Bar 820, Red Frog Tiki, Golden Jubilee or at the bar in Pig & Anchor. The bartenders were observing the 5 minute rule for alcoholic drinks only.
  3. It's 5 minutes, definitely not 1/2 hour. And we had no trouble getting an alcoholic drink and either a water or Pepsi Zero at the same time. I did hear bartenders telling some people they had to wait 5 minutes to get another non-alcholic drink but we never had one try to tell us that.
  4. That was definitely me, thought we had two fanny packs but they were toiletry bags. 🤦‍♀️
  5. Yep, on deck 16 - it was very convenient to zip over there when we were at RFT for "just one more" and ending up staying for hours. 😂
  6. Looks like it's cloudier there than it is in Port Canaveral - but warmer in Miami.
  7. That looks WAY better than it did on our cruise last month! Yours looks just like it did on Mardi Gras. We had it twice on Celebration and gave up. It was dry and overcooked. 😞
  8. That was exactly our plan last month and it worked well. We arrived at 9:30, were checked in and sitting in the Diamond/Platinum/Suites area by 9:50 and on the ship around 10:45. Had a drink from RFT and Shaq's on our table by RFT by 11:00.
  9. Safe travels! Hopefully the rain will clear out by the time you get here. Looks like it will be starting later than expected (around noon) but should be gone by 3:00, then back again late tonight.
  10. We thought the food & service at the steakhouse on Mardi Gras was just so so. We had a far better experience on Freedom that same year. We love Cucina and Chibang - no extra charge for dinner at either for the first visit, then $8 for any subsequent visits and no charge for lunch. I will say we've been on Mardi Gras 4 times and Celebration once and our experiences at both varied - sometimes we liked Chibang better and other times we liked Cucina better.
  11. Welp, that game sucked. Good news is they can't hurt me again until August.
  12. As soon as I got caught up on two Lives, I realized there was another one. I'm here now - #75!
  13. The closest one to us is in Daytona Beach and we haven't been yet. Costco stresses me out, so Buc-ees is liable to push me over the edge!
  14. We were on Celebration last month and had a 10:00 - 10:30 arrival time. We got there a little earlier, as we drove up from Key West early that morning and weren't sure how the traffic would be. We parked and walked out of the garage at 9:30, walked right in the terminal and were checked in and sitting in the Captain's Club by 9:50. By the time we arrived, there weren't many seats left so I have no idea what time the other people got there. We walked onto the ship around 10:45, did our muster, dropped off a backpack in our room and were sitting on Lido with Shaq's Chicken by 11:02. On the other hand, the people boarding Celebration the day we got off had completely the opposite experience. The Port of Miami was closed that morning due to high seas and high winds so we didn't dock until sometime after 1:00 pm that day. It was around 2:45 by the time we were in our car waiting to pay and exit the garage. I feel for the people waiting to board the ship - we could see the terminal was packed as we were leaving.
  15. I did the same thing when we downsized a few years ago - we moved from a big house in a big city to a beach condo. I had a whole drawer full of these and countless cruise brochures. I pitched all my sail & sign cards too.
  16. Good thing she's not the one keeping the kids! Hopefully that means this will be a light case. I had Shingles a few months before I was eligible for the vaccine and it was not fun!
  17. The weather forecast here is looking better for you on Sunday. If it holds, you should be able to get your Rikki Tiki time in after all.
  18. I know visitors love Fishlips but Grills is our favorite place at the port. But we always sit outside at the tiki bar or at a table on the deck if there's more than just the two of us, so not a good backup plan if it rains.
