  1. Our first Carnival cruise was on the original Celebration as well so we have very fond memories of it.
  2. We were on the 12/10 Celebration cruise and actually thought the food in the MDR was really good for the most part. We checked the menus ahead of time and had dinner there 4 times that week, which is much more than we went on other recent Carnival cruises. We've been on Mardi Gras 4 times - the first cruise, we only ate in the MDR twice, the second cruise once and not at all the next two because the food and service just weren't good. We really liked the new menus and enjoyed our meals in the MDR on the nights we went. Some of the desserts weren't worth the calories but the apps and entrees were on point.
  3. We were just on Celebration and really liked the new menus.
  4. Thanks, I figured as much. Not sure we'd really take advantage of it anyway, but it's nice to know our options. 🙂
  5. Yay, another Live!! We were just on Celebration earlier this month and we loved it. Our favorite bartender on the ship was Anna at Bar 820 - we visited her every morning for coffee and more. Still hate cruising out of Miami though, so our next few will be out of Port Canaveral. 🙂
  6. Thank you for your comments! We'll be on Vista in April and hope the ship is in good condition when it comes out of drydock. Based on what you said about finding out whether your table is on deck 3 or 4 after getting confirmation in the Hub app, that must mean YTD is in Horizons Restaurant and not Reflections? Was coffee available at the Plaza Bar in the mornings as well as at Java Blue? I had read pre-Covid, Vista used to have a small breakfast buffet in the Ocean Plaza but don't think it has been brought back. Did you find that to be the case? Would you happen to have any screenshots from the Hub app for opening times for bars and dining?
  7. Thank you for the comparison; we're looking forward to our first Celebrity cruise but it's still a little over a year away. Our recent cruises have been on newer Carnival ships that do have glass shower doors. 🙂
  8. We got off Celebration today around 2:40 (Platinum with self debarkation). Despite the weather, we had a great cruise. That ship handled the seas very well. We're almost home; it's been a long day. Miami traffic was miserable this afternoon but we had no issues last Sunday morning when we arrived.
  9. Safe travels! We left home at 7:00 am and are almost to Key Largo. I hope there's no bad traffic for you at the port tomorrow!
  10. When I saw the spring rolls on the menus I was hoping you'd order them so I could check them out! lol The carbonara has always been a favorite of mine but I haven't had them since they started added onions.
  11. Love that your RV has a name! I can't even decide on a name yet for my current car. lol
  12. Our original plan was to drive down very early Sunday morning (we have a brunch reservation in KW at 11:45) but thinking we might start the drive on Saturday, NOT at o'dark thirty.
  13. What time are we heading south? We're heading to Key West this weekend so we might see you on the road. 🙂
  14. Hey I think Just June is @MeganGC1983's fav. We haven't seen her yet. That looks awesome - I want like 4 of those please. And spaghetti carbonara too. 😍
  15. We really do need some more reaction choices here - half the time the options we have don't really make sense. 🤷‍♀️ Thanks so much for sharing your cruise with us! (That cake last night looked scary.)
  16. I recognize those rocks. That video was recorded either by the boat ramps near T3 where Mardi Gras docks or just past there in Jetty Park. The Mardi Gras goes by that whole area on the way out of the port. And yes, you can often hear the announcements, music, etc. on land there. In fact, we live on the beach just about a mile south of the mouth of the port and if the wind is blowing the right way, we can hear it from our balcony.
  17. I don't think we ever went to the piano bar on Freedom but we had to sit in the walkway area outside of it on Magic. It was packed! Red Frog seemed bigger to me on Freedom.
  18. Well that stinks, I've gotten spoiled with Mardi Gras at T3 in Port Canaveral. lol And thank you for your suggestion - I use Chrome but I was able to open the schedule with Edge for 12/10 and 12/17. Maybe it will show which way the ship will dock closer to the date. I don't recall ever seeing that info for Port Canaveral. Thank goodness you have your mobile bar with you!! I would have missed that. 😂
  19. I thought F was specifically renovated for Celebration, is that not right? Where did you find that info on Port of Miami website? I found the page where you can download a schedule but when I try to open the pdf, I get an error message saying the file was damaged and cannot be repaired. I've tried it 3 times with the same result. 😞 You had better luck than TravelBlueBird did today! She was stuck in traffic for nearly two hours coming from a hotel in Miami this morning. You forgot your mobile bar in your room or forgot to bring it on the ship?? 😐
  20. While I've heard of some parking issues at T1, I've never heard of any problems at T5 (or any other terminal in Port Canaveral). There is adequate parking in the garage for T5.
  21. Seems odd the duck spring rolls would be served cold, yes? I don't usually order duck but would like to try this.
  22. Yay, can't wait to follow along! I feel your pain on the Miami issue though. We usually cruise out of Port Canaveral since we live only a couple miles away. I'm getting really nervous about dealing with Miami for our 12/10 Celebration cruise since we haven't cruised from there since maybe 2010. We'll be in Key West the week prior to our cruise so we'll have to leave really early that Sunday morning.
  23. Ugh, I'm used to Port Canaveral since we live right down the street. We haven't cruised out of Miami in years and it was a mess then too. I was hoping it was better now!
