I went out our front door a few minutes ago to get a picture of Elation docked at Terminal 3 but it's barely visible. We always have a great view of Mardi Gras when it's docked there but it's so much bigger. I hope the person debarking in our port will be OK. A very close family member was on a cruise early this year and the ship had to make an emergency stop in Ft. Lauderdale where they had an ambulance waiting for her. Getting that call in the middle of the night was something I'll never forget so my heart always skips a beat when I hear about an emergency medical evacuation.

John Heald many years ago on Triumph - his bedtime story was hilarious. Lee Mason - just so personable and friendly. We were sitting at the Center Stage bar on MG last year and Lee walked over and spoke with us for a few minutes. Shortly after that, the headline singer in the show that night came over and talked with us as well. Chris Williams is amazingly talented.

We love Mardi Gras - we've been on it 4 times and will be on Celebration for the first time in a couple weeks. But we had a great cruise on Freedom last year with our kids and grandkids and really enjoyed that one too. I think it may have been because it reminded us of all the ships we'd been on years ago when our sons were younger and we cruised with big family groups. We have a B2B booked on Vista in April and we're looking forward to trying out that class ship as well.

Some of these replies make me wonder if they've been on a recent Carnival cruise. 😂 We've never been on a cruise on Christmas day but we've cruised on Carnival in mid-December for the past couple years and will be on Celebration in a couple weeks. The last two December cruises we saw lots of varying holiday clothes - including Christmas PJs - throughout the week. We didn't go to the MDR for breakfast so not sure if it happened there but I specifically recall seeing PJs at night near the Center Stage area. I love to see people having fun so I thought it was great.

Curious how this went for you. We have a regular driver we call to drop us off or pick us up at the port. When he's not available to pick us up, we just grab a taxi when we get off the ship - and the rates have been very similar but we are super close to the port. I still have several pages to go back and catch up on but just wanted to say thank you for posting your live review - I've really enjoyed following along! I woke up around 4:40 this morning (not on purpose) and saw the Freedom with her lovely new tail just about to enter the channel to the port. Watching the cruise ships come in while I'm still in bed is a sight that never gets old! 🙂

I just did the same out of curiosity for our cruise next month. The original luggage tags I downloaded were red and said Platinum. The ones I just downloaded are light purple and say Priority. 🤷♀️

II Secondo Bacio vs Cafe al Bacio ?
Knights on the Beach replied to horseymike's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Thank you both! I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband is - that location will be very convenient since our room is just one deck down from there. -

Where is this located on Equinox? I'm not seeing it on the deck plan. -
Well I meant the locals. 🤣🤣🤣

Exactly the way we'd do it if we were cruising out of T-1. Well probably mimosas though. Always fun people at the tiki bar on Sunday mornings.😊

Port Canaveral / Cocoa Beach Trolley
Knights on the Beach replied to SteerageJoe's topic in Florida Departures
I don't see a way to make it pedestrian friendly (or allowed) since it involves going over a drawbridge. But there are plenty of taxis and Uber/Lyft drivers here. -
Wouldn't it be easier (and cheaper) for you to Uber to the port? Especially since you're doing a B2B. It's one of our favorite perks of living in Cape Canaveral. 😊

We were on a Disney cruise in August and our itinerary switched from western to eastern Caribbean due to a hurricane in the Gulf. We weren't a bit surprised (and I was actually pretty happy) but of course people were disappointed. BUT they would have been miserable if the captain had attempted to go anywhere near the Gulf that week. LOL

Info on Celebration Key
Knights on the Beach replied to VolzCruiser's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Yes, we enjoyed our day at CocoCay very much without spending any extra money. In addition to the upcharge areas and options, they have a few different beach areas, large pool, multiple bars and food areas. While I generally have enjoyed the food on Carnival more than on Royal, I thought the food on CocoCay was better than Half Moon Cay (more options). And since the drink package works on CocoCay, we didn't spend any money off the ship that day.
