  1. Sorry to hear that about Ocean Plaza. Looks like Java Blue it is since Havana Bar doesn't open early. Thanks all!
  2. I've tried searching for this info but keep getting an error message. We just booked our first B2B on Vista for 2024 and our cabin is on Lido. I know specialty coffee is at Java Blue. Also at Ocean Plaza? Is there anywhere else on the ship to get good coffee, at another bar maybe? On Freedom there's a small coffee bar behind the Lido buffet and on Mardi Gras we go to Bar Della Rosa. Also, in Ocean Plaza is there still a small breakfast buffet or food there at other times?
  3. We love cruising from Port Canaveral but we live here. So all we have to do is hop in an Uber (or have a friend drop us off) for the quick drive. But we spend a lot of time at Grills or sometimes Gators at the port at their tiki bars and love watching the ships leave. We're not a fan of Miami at all and haven't cruised from there in years but we'll be on Celebration in December so we'll see how that goes. There's supposed to be a launch today at 5:32 but the weather is crap so chances are good it will be postponed. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will be moved to 2/11.
  4. The ocean is ROUGH this morning, hope it calms down before the ships leave port. Have a great cruise!
  5. We stayed there a few times before we moved to Cape Canaveral. It's in a good location and within walking distance of the Pier, Cocoa Beach Fish Camp, Ale House, Grahams, Papa Vito's, etc. There's a Publix shopping center just across Atlantic with a few restaurants there as well. Sandbar is about a mile away, so not too far either. Might be a better place for people who don't like our port area.
  6. Should have listened to me, you went to the wrong place. This is a great small town. We moved to the beach from Orlando to get away from city life. We have several local places we really like but probably not your style.
  7. We can see Mardi Gras from our front door. I'm jealous you'll get to spend two weeks with our favorite bartender Melissa at Brass Magnolia. Have a great cruise, looking forward to following along!
  8. Zarrella's is good. We also really like Papa Vito's for Italian but Zarrella's is closer to the hotels near the port.
  9. Everyone will say Fishlips but as locals we rarely go there. The bottom one is in Cocoa Beach but the other two are at the port. https://www.grillsseafood.com/port-canaveral/ https://www.risingtidetap.com/ https://www.sandbarsportsgrill.net/
  10. I think this is the first time I made one of Sid's reviews before the cruise started! Grills at the port is one of our favorite restaurants here. Safe travels tomorrow!
  11. A little over 11 years ago my niece got married in this room (above) while the ship was docked in Port Canaveral. The reception was in the room in the picture below. We attended the wedding but didn't go on the cruise - it was during football season and we had a home game a few days later.
  12. We had a balcony cabin right in that immediate area and had no noise issues at all.
  13. We only go to Fishlips once or twice a year (Grills is our place at the port) but I've never seen that many empty barstools there when we're there.
  14. There are upcharge items, but Cucina, Pig & Anchor and Chibang are all free because they all are considered as MDR on Mardi Gras & Celebration.
  15. I don't like coffee either - mimosas are a great substitute.
  16. And here is my (and my husband's) lunch at Cucina - it was delicious.
  17. We're all about location. We love a cabin on Lido deck, whether it's a balcony or inside - especially on the larger ships. We most often have balcony cabins but had two insides last year and didn't regret it for one minute.
