I'm just happy there are chips & salsa - something that's been sadly lacking from my cruises in recent years.

Looking for a hotel near Port Canaveral
Knights on the Beach replied to Diem_042916's topic in Florida Departures
The hotel mentioned by KattyPoo is in Cocoa - no ocean in Cocoa. Sounds like you may have booked a hotel in Cocoa Beach. -
I think our last time on Mardi Gras, we only went to Fortune Teller once or twice. We definitely spent more time there during our previous cruises. Abracadabra is my favorite drink there but Lime in the Coconut is ok too. Brass Magnolia was our favorite last time, mainly due to the excellent bartenders who were more like Alchemy bartenders - mixologists, they call them in New Orleans. Next up for us is Celebration in December but I'm already longing to be back on Mardi.

We love Nolan's! But we never heard of a black & brown - is it with regular root beer or hard root beer? Mark drinks Guinness there and I drink Not Your Father's Root Beer, so now I'm curious! While you were at Nolan's, we were at Grills for our standing Friday lunch. 🙂 Anyway, I'm finally caught up and hoping to hear you had a good day in Costa Maya!

Not So Much A Celebration Cruise (September 3-9)
Knights on the Beach replied to Lee Cruiser's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Thank you for posting. We'll be on Celebration in December and I really hope we don't have such rude people cruising with us. It's been many years since we've gone out of Miami and I'm not looking forward to that aspect of it either. -
I second this! I don't often get seasick but there was one day last year on Mardi Gras we had some rough weather. Fortunately my DIL had some Bonine ginger pills and it worked great. I only had to take one that day but now I take a box on every cruise just in case. We live on the beach in Cape Canaveral and the waves are pretty big right now.

Ah, dang it, so close! Unfortunately, it seems like many of the cruise lines have also had cutbacks - at least people are complaining about them on the other boards. I figure I don't know how it used to be on Celebrity (or whatever line we decide to try), so I won't miss anything. 🙂

This reminded me I need to go back and finish reading your MSC review! I got caught up in work and getting ready for our 8/26 Disney Fantasy cruise and have some catching up to do now. We have three cruises booked on Carnival - Celebration in December and a B2B on Vista in April. I just booked our first Celebrity cruise for January 2025 and I'm still looking forward to trying out MSC and NCL within the next year or two. We love Carnival and I don't feel like we'll ditch them but we're ready to branch out a bit as well.

I just booked our first Celebrity cruise on Saturday and everything looks correct on the booking confirmation I received via email. Later that day under Manage Reservation, I noticed we had anytime dining even though I'd selected early when I booked the cruise online. No big deal, I was able to change it. On Sunday, the total price due was less than it should be - the insurance I'd booked was missing. I emailed cec@celebrity.com and asked them to confirm we have insurance and to add the cost back in. I haven't received a reply yet but checked again this morning and the insurance was back, however there was a charge for prepaid tips which I had not selected. I booked the all included rate, so there should be no additional charge for tips, right? I emailed them again and told them I see the insurance is back on the reservation and asked them to remove the prepaid tips. This time I got an auto-reply email stating their current response time is 30 days. Not a problem, our cruise is in 2025. Just for the heck of it, I looked at the booking again just now and the insurance is gone again and there's a credit for it at a higher cost than in should be. (There shouldn't be a credit for it at all, we want the insurance.) The prepaid tips are still there. What on earth is going on?

LIVE… Carnival Celebration 9/3/23-9/9/23
Knights on the Beach replied to MeganGC1983's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Megan, thank you for posting your live review - I love following along on your cruises! We're on Celebration in December and hope we don't encounter any terrible teens like you did. 😞 On our last several cruises we've heard about such incidents but have been lucky to avoid experiencing them ourselves. We love Mardi Gras and are looking forward to Celebration, but are not looking forward to Miami. After the Celebration cruise, we have a B2B on Vista in April and just booked our first Celebrity cruise for 2025 since they will be coming to Port Canaveral. I saw you mentioned you were on Celebrity earlier this year - did you happen to do a review? -
Do you recall how much Domaine Chandon was per glass?

Celebrity to home port Equinox in Port Canaveral
Knights on the Beach replied to orville99's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I don't vape and my kids have kids of their own. My husband and I typically cruise alone or with other adult friends or family. We do however live in Cape Canaveral just about 2 miles from the port. We have not cruised on Celebrity yet because we prefer not to drive to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale - it's just too easy for us to cruise from Port Canaveral.. We're definitely looking forward to trying out Celebrity!
