LAMBIE'S review of Nana's MAGIC Halloween cruise

The sunrise is not spectacular, but you know, it's like everything in life, you have great times and low times and just regular, every-day times -- but they're all GOOD and as SPECIAL as you perceive them!! And just standing on the bow -- feeling the wind on my face -- and experiencing the sunrise was OUTSTANDING!!! Plus, the colors I saw -- the ones in through my eyes to my brain -- are always better than the one the camera captures. It's the emotion I felt standing there, the feeling I had, that colors my memory, and gave me a peaceful, fulfilled feeling that morning I was there.

beautiful thought... love your report. we are on the Magic Thanksgiving week. Can't wait.

Oh, Lambie, I agree. I am very, very, VERY picky about potato salad. :o I either LOVE it or I HATE it. And I LOVE Carnival potato salad from the grill! :p

I know... I add a bit of salt -- and this potato salad is delicious!!! The chucks of potato are big and they add a bit of sour cream. OUTSTANDING!!!

Great:) pics Thank You

You're welcome... I know I didn't see everything on the ship!!! But, I tried to capture lots!!

What deck has the door to the SECRET deck?

OK... the "Secret Doors" which I call the the not-so-secret-doors... are the ones people refer to as the doors to the bow. The forward, small decks that can only be reached through these doors.

On Deck 11, they're straight forward, through the cabin passageway, and out to the bow deck.

On Deck 10, they are port and starboard, and go out on the sides -- all the way forward in the guest cabins hallways.

On Deck 9, they are all the way forward, and go out, straight ahead. Deck 9 is directly over the Bridge -- so there are "wings" on each side that give a great view of the sides of the ship and ability to look back, if that's where the sunrise or sunset is...

(Decks 9 and 10 are "attached" with an outside stairway that is in the center.)

On Deck 7, they are straight forward.

And Deck 6 and 7 are connected with outside stairs...

Those are the ones I'm aware of...

These are the decks, where you can stand and feel the wind... You're right on the bow... face forward and feeling the ship cut through space. The wind factor is the highest!!!

On Deck 3... this is the "Crew Beach." It's their private area. This is only accessible with a crew member -- UNLESS you take the Behind the Scene Tour on the final Sea Day.

Our table mate in the MDR did this and he loved it!!! I've taken this tour on the CONQUEST and loved it!! The "Crew Beach" has a bell on the bow that was rung at Christening and Maiden Voyage. Also an anchor that is strictly show (guests expect to see one.) They explained this to him on the tour!

Another one of our group had her mom's ashes dropped at sea on this voyage -- and it was from a restricted deck, too! ... more aft. I was able to go, since Mom's in a wheelchair, but I've seen the photos and heard her story! You go through Carnival to do this.

Thank you for reading and for this comment... :o I hope you LOVE the Thanksgiving cruise!!! I KNOW you'll have a blessed and wonderful time!!!

No matter what -- inside of ourselves, we can make the day special or miserable, we can see the optimism and beauty -- or the frustration and anger. I know your THANKSGIVING will be GREAT!!!

Sometimes it is very amazing the lessons you can be taught later in life by "complete strangers."

Again, thank you!! And, now we aren't strangers... let me give you a ((({{{[[[ HUG }}}]]])))

*** I'm heading out to be a tourist in Austin. And visiting our Texas State Cemetery. It's a cool, we hit freezing and below last night, day. Then this evening I have a meeting. But hopefully, I'll post more... ***

This food was good and worth the trip upstairs at lunch!!! I was told it's very crowded, but this second Sea Day, it wasn't at 11:45 and still empty tables at 12:30. So try it, you'll like it!!!!

You get a sheet of paper and you check mark what kind of pasta, toppings, meat, etc... and if you want a salad or bread. It's DELIGHTFUL!!!

Thank you for reading!!! I truly LOVED Seattle!!! I need to go back!! When I see scenes n TV, I can say -- I know that view, or building... But there is so much I didn't see. I want to do an September Alaska cruise in 2015. Just to see Seattle in that time of year -- and to see Alaska again!!!

Sarah... Happy Holidays to you too!!! We've got Thanksgiving and Hanukkah and Christmas and Winter Solstice... and even just EVERYDAY!!!

What great selections -- if you can't find something to your liking anywhere else!! (Is this possible???)

But, it's about to be Tea Time and I didn't miss Tea Time!!! This is a WONDERFUL feature!! (And it's free, not for sale...) It's on Sea Days at 3pm. Yes, I know, 4pm is Tea Time, but... it's 4pm somewhere!!!

It's upstairs, Deck 4 of the MDR... Southern Lights...

And the sweets... I truly missed not having anything lemon on today's menu... Their lemon curd is tart and tasty -- but there wasn't any.

They roll the tea cart around to each table and let you make selections.

As a Platinum guest... I get three bags of laundry done for free on this 7 night cruise. It's a nice feature... and I take advantage of it. For wash and wear type things, like shorts and Tshirts, everyday underwear, socks, etc... Well, one day, we happen to be in the cabin when it was being delivered... Freshly folded from the dryer and toasty warm!!! The air conditioning is quite effective in the cabins and public areas, and Nana was a bit cold -- so I gave her some of her clothes and she just "put the warm things on..."

Please don't ever tell her I posted those -- I know she'd shoot me... <wink, wink> But, to be honest, this is just some of the fun we had on board!!! Just being ourselves and silly and letting go!!!

Standard laundry is a slight cost...

This was a door... I was so disappointed... I'm a BIG, a HUGE fan of Carnival -- but it said I couldn't enter... <frowny face...>

Now, just some random things from both Sea Day nights on our beds...

The ball cap and pin are for being a Platinum cruiser...

Im just lovin all these pics ! Thank you...I don't sail until next fall Nov 2 But I was curious how was your weather ? You went during the same time as our cruise Was it cold in Galveston? Warm in ports ? any storms ?

Except for the wind... the weather was WONDERFUL!!!

I needed a light jacket at sail away.

By mid morning, Monday, NOT standing in the wind it was 80s I'd say. Very nice. Many out sunbathing and swimming!!!

Tuesday, hot and humid.

Jamaica -- just too hot for October/November. And the humidity made it sticky!!! But, you know, it was OK and sleeveless or tshirts was perfect!!

Caymans -- STICKY!!! It would rain for 30 minutes and clear for 10... on and off most of the day! But in the upper 80s I'm sure!!!

Cozumel -- in the sun... HOT and humid. (But probably only upper 80s...)

Last Sea Day, coming home, windy but comfortable!

Galveston, 11/3... Pleasant, clear, and sad... :( we had to debark...

And speaking of WINDY... This sign was posted Tuesday and still up early Wednesday morning... Now, it does say "Please..." So, I interpreted that to man I had the right to say, "No thank-you!" ...and that's what I did... I still went out to look at the stars Tuesday night and think and enjoy the wind!!!

I tried to get photos of the food... I know many enjoy seeing what their choices might be. And Roger and Matt were so nice. As our tablemates, they let me snap shots of their choices too!!!

So let's see what dinner was on Tuesday evening!!!

I'll embarrass myself... This soup was Tom Ka Guy.. That doesn't sound quite right -- but it's so GOOOOOOD!!!!

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv8666%3Dot%3E333%3A%3D728%3D325%3DXROQDF%3E279%3C7%3C7%3C48258ot1lsi

Nana picked off the lo-cal menu and went with the potato soup

I also had to try the duck...

232323232%7Ffp83232%3Euqcshlukaxroqdfv%3A66%3C%3Dot%3E333%3A%3D728%3D325%3DXROQDF%3E279%3C7%3B7565258ot1lsi

The fried shrimp and sauce are WONDERFUL!!!

I think these were the alligator fritters...
