Relaxing Rita Posted September 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Hi Cruisers, We would like to get to the cruise terminal from the airport in Venice as quickly as possible. Is a taxi a good choice? Are they metered? Does anyone know the approximate fare? Thanks for your help. We have just booked a car through https://www.lowcostaxi.net/ Four people and luggage for 60 Euros to San Basilio from the airport. We haven't taken the trip yet but emails very promptly answered and they are very well reviewed on TripAdvisor.

Rare travelberlin Posted September 16, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2018 I have booked a transfer with Azamara and it has worked out perfectly. I would do it again.
TravelBugM Posted September 16, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Private water taxi - very James Bond Casino Royale. Expensive, but a real treat!
DrivesLikeMario Posted September 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 16, 2018 It's better to use a taxi service you book in advance. We're paying 45E from San Basilio to the airport with this company and they were very responsive. They were referred to us by another CCer. https://www.trevisocarservice.com/en/ If you want to do a water taxi (which we're doing from the airport into VCE), this company has private ones and shared ones and you can book online: https://www.venicelink.com/en/products/shuttle
Riocca Posted September 16, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 16, 2018 We have used this company before and have booked with them for our upcoming Quest cruise. https://airportstaxitransfers.com/ Service has always been excellent and the cost reasonable at €38 for 2 passengers and luggage. TravelBugM Posted September 16, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 16, 2018 We used venicelink on our last to Venice. Shared water taxi. Excellent service. Since we were to be first off, we were placed up front with the driver and had great views coming in to Venice. Bear in mind, it's quite a hike from arrivals to the water taxi area. treasurer Posted September 16, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Thanks for all your help everyone. Will probably try the car service you have suggested. We have done the water taxi so just want to get there quickly. Thanks again.

eileenover Posted September 17, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2018 We've been to Venice many times. Guess we're lucky because we're only a couple of hours away. On those occasions where we have flown in to Marco Polo, we have always taken water taxis. Yes, they arev expensive but the experience is so 007 -----as a previous poster has said! Since the airport has been refurbished, there is a moving walk-way to and from the water taxis and main terminal building.
