We have sailed on the Pacific twice in the last year and a half. It is my understanding the cabins without connecting doors have sofas and cabins with connecting doors only have room for a chair. Our balcony cabin had a sofa and it was not a cabin that sleeps three.

I thought it's 'deluxe balcony' rooms that have a sofa, and normal 'balcony rooms' have a chair?

The Pacific was one of eight ships built for Renaissance Cruises and later purchased by Princess. It has different design features than ships designed and built for Princess. These include loveseats in many inside, oceanview, and balcony cabins and a different layout for the mini-suites. The Royal class introduced the Deluxe Balcony category that also includes a loveseat instead of a chair.

Those who have sailed on Pacific Princess; did you like the layout of the ship? Did it feel too small; are the cabins smaller than on other Princess ships? Thanks; am looking at Pacific Princess for a Europe trip next year.

We were on the Pacific for a 12 day Med cruise in December as well as the 50th Anniversary cruise in the end of 2015 and really like the ship. The cabins have a different layout but had plenty of room and the loveseat was nice to have. The balconies are small but you could sit out there OK.

The layout is compact and convenient. You won't have as many entertainment choices with just a single show/performer in the Cabaret Lounge and activities such as trivia, themed parties, and late night dancing in the Pacific Lounge. With no Piazza the only other entertainment is in the Casino Bar. With that being said, we were satisfied with the entertainment on our two cruises.

There are only 680 passengers and the ship doesn't feel crowded. There are only two banks of two elevators but often we were the only ones in the elevator. Only times with crowding was for shows in the Cabaret Lounge.

There is only one DR with just traditional dining. The Panorama Buffet offered a wide selection of choices in a compact space.

We loved Pacific Princess--it was our first smaller ship and after adjusting to how dollhouse-like it looked, we had a wonderful 18-day Trans Atlantic cruise on her in 2013.

We had an aft balcony--spectacular for the sea days--no need for Sanctuary with aft balcony.

Met some lovely people, many of whom were on multiple world cruise segments. You will know everyone on board after a while!

Unfortunately, the ship is in higher demand now so it has gotten out of affordable range for us.

Do it! It's like having a ship for a cozy home.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. It seems like this ship may fit into my cruise schedule next year. Looking at 12 night med cruise. Have done three med cruises; so some ports have been to before; but there will be quite a few that we have not been to; thus why I am looking at this cruise. Question? how is the weather in Italy, Spain, France, and Croatia in November? We will be in Sorrento, rome, naples, sicily, Barcelona, kotor, split, and I believe monte carlo.

You are hi-jacking your own thread! But to answer your question, probably cold. In the 50s BUT IT CAN SURPRISE YOU. We were in shirt sleeves in December in Rome once. And if it is cold and rainy, oh so miserable.

I was frankly shocked at how small everything was when we first boarded, and yes, I had studied countless pictures and descriptions ahead of time. BUT I adjusted quickly and learned to appreciate the charm of a small ship. The layout was great and easy. The only real downside is the darn movement due to it being small. The staterooms are a little smaller but not terribly so. Our balcony room had a little less space in the bathroom and between the bed and the wall as well as a smaller balcony.

We did a cruise at the end of November last year with stops in Kotor, Dubrovnik, Sicily, Naples (Sorrento), and Rome. Highs were mostly in the high 50's/low 60's and we usually wore fleece jackets and with several rainy days, waterproof windbreakers. Although in Dubrovnik we had a beautiful sunny day and no jacket was needed. For us, that was much better than the very hot days we had in September two years before. The ports were also much less crowded with fewer ships in port and that was a plus.

I appreciate your feedback. Don't know if I will get bored on the ship. I am on Emerald this July; so will see how that goes. I know pacific is small than Emerald
