Tampa Girl Posted May 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2018 And for $92,000, or thereabouts, one get $2,000 in OBC'S. Color me unimpressed.
Go-Bucks! Posted May 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2018 If that's the price for an inside cabin then it's nearly double the cost of an inside cabin on the Oceania world cruise. Wow....:o
jburton59 Posted May 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Viking is an all-balcony line. Sent from my SM-J700T using Forums mobile app
Go-Bucks! Posted May 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Viking is an all-balcony line. Ok....Viking is 17% more expensive than Oceania's balcony daily cost. ;)

Go-Bucks! Posted May 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 11, 2018 not sure if Oceania includes excursions and beverage package, business class air and one way luggage pick up? On Oceania, in all cabin categories, the base cruisefare includes: ~First class roundtrip airfare ~72 shore excursions or a beverage package or $7,200 OBC (we chose shore excursions) ~Prepaid gratuities ~Onboard medical care ~Unlimited internet ~Unlimited laundry services ~5 shoreside events ~Complete visa package ~Roundtrip luggage delivery ~1-night pre-cruise luxury hotel stay ~Roundtrip transfers When we were doing research about which cruiseline to book, we used these perks to compare. For other lines that don't included some of them, we had to add on the cost to their base cruisefare in order to compare apples-to-apples. We also wanted a westward cruise direction, not a huge ship, and more port days than sea days.
Guinness1000 Posted May 13, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 13, 2018 I love the itinerary! For us, we would have to think very hard about doing a four month WC twice a couple years apart or go once on this eight month trip. Either way sound very exciting to me. Heidi13 Posted May 16, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 16, 2018 For the 2020 WC, from LA to London (119 days) the Viking Ocean base fare in all categories includes: Excursion in each port Complimentary drinks package Complimentary wi-fi Complimentary gratuities $2,000 USD OBC for shore-ex, per person $1,000 USD OBC for shops/spas, per person Complimentary laundry Complimentary VISA service Complimentary round trip Business Class airfares Complimentary luggage delivery Complimentary transfers Complimentary specialty restaurants Includes port fees & taxes While the Viking base may seem expensive, I estimated the total cruise expense will be a very small increase over the cost of our 2015 WC with Princess. The entire World Cruise is split into 2 segments - London to LA & LA to London
