Sports channels on board

If you on board at the moment or have sailed recently I'd be interested to know what sports channels you are able to/were able to see? I've just come off Reflection and we only had ESPN, ESPN2 and Sport24. Previously Sky Sports News was also available.

When I questioned it on Twitter the initial reply was that there were technical limitations preventing the ship from receiving it, not that I had mentioned which ship I was on at the time. I know someone currently on Eclipse and they have the same selection available, with Sky Sports News 'missing'.

The subsequent reply from Celebrity was that "we usually only show Sky Sports on sailings from the UK and sometimes on other European cruises." I then pointed out that Reflection and Eclipse were both currently in Europe, and that I had been able to view the channel on Constellation out of Abu Dhabi in April for the Suez Canal cruise and prior to that on three transatlantic crossings. I've not had any further reply.

It's no deal breaker, as I can was it on my iPad in Europe when in port, or by using a VPN when connected to the ship's WiFi. It was just nice to be able to watch it on the stateroom tv or in the Casino Bar.

I can't speak from experience, but from what I've read, the wifi is more like dial up. So I don't see how you'll be able to stream any video. Even if you can, it seems to be that you would be taking up quite a bit of the bandwidth just for you, leaving the others to fend for themselves. Is this your plan?

What on earth are you talking about? If one is able to connect to the internet one can use it for whatever they choose. Leaving others to fend for themselves? Please.

Just off Silhouette and they had all UK premiership football matches on Sport24 in your room.

They would have been shown in the casino bar too. Sport24 is standard on the ships. I'm interested to know if any ship is still carrying Sky Sports News as it seems to have dropped off their available channel list.

On our cruise, there were several stations which said "not available". We only had ESPN and ESPN2. May be related to the location and satellite feed.

We had HGTV, Food Network, and CNN all day and night.
