Gamecock_Cruiser Posted February 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2017 We are cruising on the Glory in May. We were hoping to just fly into Miami, but the flights have almost doubled in the last few days. We are looking into flying into FLL the day before the cruise and taking a Uber to a hotel in MIA. We we depart the ship, we are looking at taking the Carnival Transfer back to FLL airport. It says not to book any flights before 12pm. What time will the transfer leave the cruise terminal to take us back? We are looking at a 12:50pm flight, but I don't want to book one to early and miss the flight. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
sturderick Posted February 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2017 We always fly into Fort Lauderdale. SAS transportation is fantastic! We have used them several times and have never had a problem. You can set it up ahead of time and call them as you are leaving customs and they will send someone there. We have never waited more than 10 minutes. Much cheaper than a transfer. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Cruiseman38 Posted February 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2017 I went on Glory last year in June and also used SAS transportation to go from FLL to the Port of Miami and back. I agree with sturderick, Fantastic service and communication. Will definitely use again if I do another cruise out of Miami.

Luke Dawg Posted February 10, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2017 We always use SASl, great and reliable service, we self assisted and went from Port of Miami to FLL and checked in at 9am for a 10:25 departure. I95 can get backed up so that is the chance you take
ABQrobin Posted February 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2017 We were on the Glory Aug 2015, took the Carnival shuttle to FLL airport. Got on the bus before 9am, it was almost full already, and off we went. The traffic was horrible, so it took almost an hour due to stop and go backups on the highway. We got to the airport before 10:30am, but had to go through long lines at security and long lines for checkin. We were glad our flight was after noon as we needed it. Weekends at FLL are busy busy busy. Keep that in mind.

Nic6318 Posted February 11, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2017 Hi there There are crazy drivers on that road. One time we saw three separate accidents on that short trip and one was severe. We did have lots of time so it didn't impact us but you could see how frustrated our shuttle driver was. That being said with a 12:50 flight you should be OK if you get off early, but there are never any guarantees. You know, on this site people are always asking how early they should book flights (very common question) and there are always people who mention how early they made it to the airport. I have yet to see anybody talk about how they booked that 11:00 flight because they would get home so much earlier and ended up having to stay any extra day (or something) because they didn't get to the airport on time. Either nobody has missed their flight, or they are just shy to share their experience. have a great cruise
cruise pup Posted February 11, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 11, 2017 The cruise line transfer buses cannot stop in front of the terminals, so you will have to lug your bags from the drop off point. Another reason why I won't use them. SAS has always been reliable.
