Bringing XBOX or PlayStation on the ship?

Has anyone ever done this? I have some teenage boys that like to play late at night.

Some TVs dont have proper ports to hook up consoles, and other TVs that do don't allow you to access the input menu to switch the video input showing.

Have them go to the teen clubs, they have gaming systems there.

Most, if not all of the ships have upgraded the televisions to wall mounted flat screens. I'm not sure if these newer televisions have an input where you can connect a video game system.

Our tv on the Splendor has no ports to attach anything.

Could bring an all-in-one, like a Switch.

I don't believe you will be able to hook the system up as the inputs are disabled and/or the remote will not allow you to switch modes on the TV.

If there's an HDMI hookup they should be able to, shouldn't they? Sure the remote itself may not have the ability to change the source, but everyone knows there are 94372 apps to operate a TV and change the source and/or operate the TV with your phone.

Two words:

Even if they HDMI there is no way to switch the inputs with the remotes

Carnival has it set up so you cant do this. My husband is highly skilled in IT and tried to hook our tablet to one of the lovely tvs and you cant do it.

There are XBox and/or Playstation games in the Circle C club, in case your kids are in that age range. I think the older kids can use it too. Since I'm not sure of the age of your teens.

If you have a suite the TV's will have the proper inputs for the cables, but if not then they will have to use some old school entertainment I am afraid :confused:....

Carnival's website specifically states that

• Digital Cameras/Camcorders, DVDs/VCRs, USB sticks, iPods, Nintendo/X-Box Play Units cannot be used with the TV in the guest's stateroom or suite as the connection ports are disabled.
  

I have seen on some sites where people were able to hook into the HDMI port and then change the input using various methods, but from some of the other comments it is definitely hit or miss.

However you could always bring your own small display with you in your carry on and just hook it up to that.

I lugged HDMI cord to hook my laptop to for watching a movie. We could not make it happen. We were on the Splendor 13 day Panama Canal Crossing in January.

If you just can't survive without a large display, bring your own pico projector.

As above....you won't be able to change the source on the tv no matter how many open HDMI ports there are.
