bugsbunny222 Posted October 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2017 If embarkation day is a Sunday, will there be an evening Sunday Mass on board? Thanks! Becky :)
RuthC Posted October 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2017 Yes. Assuming the priest makes it on board (rarely does he not), then Mass will be held at 5:00 PM. Mass is celebrated daily, with very few exceptions (such as when the ship ports very early and leaves very late). If a sea day, it is held in the morning; port days are in the evening. A late docking is treated as a sea day for scheduling purposes. Check your daily program for times and places. They are a movable feast.
Krazy Kruizers Posted October 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2017 We have embarked many times on a Sunday and about 99% of the time Mass was held at 5 PM.

Sage Posted October 23, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Mass is generally held every day. Look for it in the daily schedule. I find it easier going to Mass than trying to find an elevator after the lifeboat drill.

aamons Posted October 23, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 23, 2017 One thing to be aware of, is that the 1700 Daily Mass on port days may not be doable if you have 1730 dining seating. Or if dining time is changed to 1700- as it was on Veendam past two weeks. Sea day Masses are at 0800, no problem there. Be aware that location may change daily depending on what other groups have rooms reserved or what movies are playing.

The dining room crew is well aware of the situation and generally will let us in. We just make sure to leave Mass immediately afterwards (sitting by the door helps). Of course a 5:15 PM Seating will not work. If the dining room closes before we get there, we are prepared to just go to the Lido - not a major problem IMO. avian777 Posted October 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 23, 2017 Thank you so much! It will be so nice to not have to worry about finding a Mass while traveling! And this is the reason why we are 100% loyal HAL cruisers. For us, vacation is a time for spiritual renewal as much as anything else, so we are very grateful to HAL and Apostleship of the Seas - US for providing daily Mass to us when we cruise. And now a commercial message: be sure to support AoS-US with a financial contribution online and/or on board your next cruise. Smooth sailing t t t
