Sail & Sign Refund Check

Just back from Carnival Miracle. I was surprised to find out on the morning of debarkation that we didn't get a refund check for the cash balance on our Sail & Sign account, but would have one mailed to us. Can anyone tell me how long this has been taking?

I would have cashed out at the kiosk, but also didn't know that was an option 'til off the ship. I wouldn't be too concerned about the balance except I was refunded for a cancelled shore excursion that was a pricier one.

I read somewhere on CC that it took 2 weeks-ish, but don't know from personal experience -- in November, they slipped a check for the leftovers under our door with our invoice.

This has been effect at least since this past December. We had stopped at the Guest Services desk the last night while on Breeze, and the woman there told us we had a few hundred dollars cash left on our sail and sign card, and if we wanted it now to show photo I.D., and she would give us the cash. Otherwise we would get a check in the mail in two weeks. We were glad we had stopped, as I would have been expecting a check in my cabin mailbox on debark morning!

Yep, I too have been "cashing out" at the pursers desk on the evening before debarkation. Works a lot better than having to wait for a check. ;)

I also read on another thread that you can go to the casino the last night, pick a cheap slot machine, add the full amount of what will be refunded to you, make a small wager and then cash out. Take your ticket to the window for your pay out.

The purser's desk is open 24/7. And they are definitely open all night the last night!:D

In May, it took just over a week to receive our check.

the guest services is opened 24 hours a day. I can only imagine the crowds the last night-- use the kiosk

Took 11 days for us to get a refund check from Carnival. May cruise on the Breeze.

As others have said, you should have one from them within a 10 to 14 day time frame.

On the Magic in December they made several announcements during the last sea day that you could cash out at Guest Services or your refund would be mailed. It was also in the Fun Times.

Are the kiosks user friendly? Can you add $ on it or take out funds if available before final day? If I embark using a credit card, can I add cash at the kiosk? Can you also add money on your credit card?

I know lots of questions...but I don't remember ever having a kiosk. DH and I have saved up a nice cash nest egg we would like to use on this cruise so that everything is paid for in advance. We were expecting a check for the unused amount (if there is any) on the last night.

kiosks are relativly new and uses friendly., you can add money take money out look at daily balances. you can pay off your account.

I prepay as much as possible with final payment - tips after final payment.

It took 9 business days to receive ours back in May.

kiosks are relativly new and uses friendly., you can add money take money out look at daily balances. you can pay off your account.

 

I prepay as much as possible with final payment - tips after final payment.

Are they on all the ships or just the newer ones?

cant help you with that but was under the impression it was'on all ships.. it helps'with the lines at guest'services

They were on the Fantasy last December.

It took less than a week when we sailed on the Breeze to get our check.
