Have you ever called the upscale fairy?

Just wondering if I would have any luck calling and asking for a reasonable upgrade. Any of you tried it and had any luck?

I think the upsell fairy phone lines only work in one direction. Now, the upscale fairy -- she's a different entity altogether! :D

I have called a PVP before to inquire as to what the price was to move from an outside view to balcony. I was given a price about 40% off what I was seeing online. Does that count?

Actually, I have. In 2015, 3 cabins booked inside at $280pp 7 nights on Magic. Couple #1 got a call to upgrade to a balcony for a little bit of extra money. It was a really good deal, so I called to see if we and couple #3 could get in on the same deal. Sure enough, we got the same deal and all three of us on the same deck. Ended up being $350pp 7 nights balcony on deck 8. Now, I don't know if we would have been able to get the same deal if we hadn't been traveling with someone to whom it had already been offered. What was funny, is they were 1st time cruisers & we had multiple cruises under our belt.

I can 'wish'. We changed our interior cabin to balcony guarantee today, price was great! I'm pretty positive we will be happy with our balcony but if that upscale fairy could come around by god I'd kiss them!

I don't think the Upscale Fairy exists on Carnival. ;)

I did call once, back in the old days of the "Upgrade" fairy and got upgraded to a mini suite for no additional charge. The did it because there had been a pretty big price drop. That was about 16 years ago. Sadly, those days are over.

I'm excited Carnival has an upscale department! Crossing my fingers I'll hear from them.

Never with Carnival but yes with Silverseas and Cunard Butler Class.

We did after other people in our group got calls. One had the number of the person who had call them. I called and got the same upgrade.

I just called and although the price they quoted by phone beat anything I found through a 'mock booking', I also lost my onboard credit so not quite worth it, but may check again.
