Musings on Mariner - A slow boat from China

Recommended Posts

The S8 particularly with the last updates has nearly the same power saving/battery specs as the S9. At least in their ad, the camera seems to be the major improvement, though my S8 seems to do better than my wife's S7. I'll let her upgrade first this time.
I wanted ours to match. Easier to explain things

Nice photo - looks like a good time being had by all (y) The times we've been in that region the ship has been part of a convoy and a team of British Navy and their gear have been onboard. They also taped up brown paper over many windows that didn't have curtains. Thanks for your postings - good fun to follow you!

Can’t believe that CC let you use the f-b word. I got warned for alluding to it!

The rules concerning FB are often quoted incorrectly. It is my understanding that the only objection CC has about FB is in regards to adding links on roll calls.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Everything that I have read about the S9 seems to revolve around camera improvements. Since I still stick with a dedicated stand alone camera I don't care too much about the camera in my phone. The occasional times when I do use the S8 camera it has served me fine.

Just off Oman now. We'll have escorts on second leg. Not sure about convoy. I understand we go through the canal in that fashion due to width

A whole thread not about roll calls which mentioned FB was deleted recently.

Luckily I'm pleased with the camera. I forgot to add my access code for my EyeFi card, so my Canon is useless for this thread.

I may have some luck posting from my HTC next week. It knows the access code. [emoji6]

Destroying the Dragons Lair. Another PC perk. Even the Captain got involved.

Someone didn't realize laminated glass really doesn't break.

Captain Hansen did break one of the hammers.74e8b2d1979c660099e2578a1bbec348.jpg01d791d90fcbc67c0e4063f6fca0661b.jpg3f0c219abb630c717d567e573e85097a.jpg16056ad2d86d84c41da7c901d22b3c87.jpg45cdd671c817319b08c1444058bda073.jpgbe559941c28445b41b38b95de09637e7.jpg

Preemptive accommodations:

Dear Valued Member,

Our transatlantic sailings are unique itineraries that occur just twice a year— and are generally a Crown & Anchor® Society member favorite. On these sailings, your exclusive spaces might be shared with more members than on traditional itineraries. So, for your upcoming sailing on Navigator of the Seas, our onboard crew will arrange for certain enhancements to make sure you are properly accommodated.

In particular, we want to ensure that our highest tier members— our most loyal guests— enjoy the ship to the fullest while making the most of their perks. And, since almost half of the members sailing represent our top 3 tiers (with 660 Diamond, 501 Diamond Plus, and 56 Pinnacle Club Members joining us) we want your time onboard to be nothing short of spectacular.

Therefore, on this very special voyage, the Diamond Nightly Happy Hour will expand from the Diamond Lounge to the entire Viking Crown Lounge, offering a bit more space for our valued Diamond and above members. As you can imagine, even with this additional space, there will still be congestion for our 1000 plus Diamond and above members sailing. But as always, you’ll be able to use your preloaded drink vouchers at the bars and lounges throughout the ship. Also, I have outlined the adjustments to the Diamond Nightly Happy Hour for you below.

CONCIERGE LOUNGE DIAMOND CLUB & VIKING CROWN LOUNGE

Deck 9 Deck 14

Pinnacle Club and Suites Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club

Additionally, we understand that with the limited capacities in the Diamond Club, the morning rush for coffee might get a bit hectic. To relieve long waits for your specialty coffee, I have loaded one specialty coffee voucher per day on your SeaPass card. You’ll be able to redeem it in the Main Dining Room, Café Promenade, and Plaza Bar in the Windjammer. Upon arrival, be sure to check for further details in your Welcome Letter from the Concierge.

Our staff will do their best to accommodate you while onboard, and if normal operations are affected, we'll make sure you know as soon as possible via detailed in-stateroom communications. In the meantime, you can visit our Crown & Anchor Society website to review your member benefits. Thank you for your understanding.Your Crown & Anchor Society Member Director,Millie_Quiles_Signature.pngMillie A. Quiles

Preemptive accommodations:
Does Navigator have Izumi on 14?

Plus no mention of unlimited in Boleros and Schooner, or 4 drinks on seapass.

I have yet to get a coffee outside of DL/CL, and have never used more than 3 of the drinks on my seapass. 4 was probably unnecessary. Coffee on seapass was probably needed

I think we're getting another 200 or so eligible next week in Dubai. [emoji33]

Yes, and I was surprised that Adventure got a Suite Lounge there instead of Izumi. I wonder if their experience with Izumu up there has not been ideal, or they just decided having the Suite Lounge was a higher priority. On Adventure, they put Izumi on the Royal Promenade where the Sports Bar used to be.

I hope to hear the S9 is working well for you, My wife will look into it this summer. Last year I got the S8+ a week before our Adventure cruise and took it into the pool with me in my pocket. I think I was the first person to kill an s8+

That is the way I read it, but I can't talk about the consistency of the moderation of that rule since talking about fight club, I mean moderation is also against the rules. Nobody seems to care here when I mention I don't like Facebook roll calls as it lists your real name and home town to everyone on the roll call. (off to check marinetraffic to see if you have made Oman yet.
