Taxi to the Cannon Shot Ceremony

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the cost of a taxi from the cruise pier in Havana to the Cannon Shot Ceremony and should I get there a few hours early? How long is the cab ride?

it is not that far away from cruise pier...as for getting there hours early...not sure why? It is not that big of a deal that you need a front row seat or something...just being in the area is more than enough...

I'm assuming you can get there at 8:30 with no problem. Are taxis available to get back to town afterwards?

8:30 is just fine...flat rate for taxis are 10 cuc but I imagine one can be had for less with bargaining. I would combine it with a walk around Habana Vieja...it is all safe and very enjoyable.

Do you know how many people fit into a taxi for the 10 CUC rate? We are a party of four.

no problem 3 in back one in front with driver...it seems that drivers find cruise passengers are willing to pay more than the 10 so you may have to bargain to the 10 if they start higher..

Yes! We did this when we visited Havana. Our driver indicated that he would wait for us. NOTE--the taxis drop you off outside the fort, and there is not a lot of lighting. It was also drizzling on the night we went, so it was very treacherous walking to/from/in the fort.
