Thank you. Can you tell me if you have stayed there before? Do they offer a shuttle to the terminal?

Part of the cost of your stay is transportation to and from the terminal. We are staying there in June and the cost is about $30.00 more than parking at the terminal.

We are sailing on Antem and leaving from Bayonne NJ. Is this hotel close to Bayone?

We are staying in at Hampton Inn Staten Island for $198 plus tax , includes 9 nights parking and shuttle to and from the port and complementary breakfast

Never mind - I read NJ and assumed you were leaving out of Cape Liberty. Sorry.

Country Inn & Suites and Embassy Suites in Elizabeth by Jersey Gardens. Both have Shuttles to the port. Restaurants and Mall within walking distance. Advertised as "gated" parking but we never saw the gates down. The one night cost us about $100 extra for the parking and shuttle both ways. Hotel is nothing special but it is fine for one night. Shuttle driver was better than most.

I saw your post and called the hotel and they quoted the $198 for a double but also $186 for a King. That's a great deal.

Doing a Park, sleep, cruise on Staten Island is an option if you understand the considerations,

1). Bayonne Bridge (route 440 from Staten Island to Bayonne) is under construction. For a while there were bridge closures that coincided with Cape Liberty departures. These seem to have subsided.

2). $15 bridge toll to get to Staten Island. If you're coming from the south and get off the turnpike exit 10 to use the Outerbridge Crossing bridge, you can save $5-8 in the turnpike tolls it would cost to get to the hotels in the exit 14 area bringing the bridge toll down to the $7-10 range. Coming from the north you will pay the $15 bridge toll plus about $3 to get to exit 13 plus incur the extra time and traffic to get to and from the hotel on Staten Island,

3). Sightseeing in NYC is more complicated. You have to get yourselves to and from the Staten Island ferry terminal ("free" hotel shuttles may not run on a convenient schedule forcing you to wait or spend extra money on a taxi)

Bottom line - good option coming from the South. Better options at EWR through trinityreservations.com coming from the north.

For Bayonne(Cape Liberty) sleep/cruise packages you want to look at trinityreservations.com for Cape Liberty. Also Embassy Suites and Country Inns in Elizabeth, NJ. If you have a car, some Staten Island hotels offer a Park/sleep/cruise package as also discussed on this thread.

Hilton Gardens and Hampton Inn packages in Ridgefield Park, NJ are for the Manhattan Cruiseport.

Best advice - start your own thread and provide as much info as possible - ship name, exact dates you need a hotel, number of people, hotel/parking budget, flying (into which airport) or driving (where you're driving from), NYC sightseeing requirements, and any other details you can think of. Cruising from "New York" is complicated - three airports and three cruise ports. Ground transportation can be expensive if you can't manage your luggage on public transit. Hotels can be very expensive. It's very much a DIY process to balance your costs.

For lessons learned sake, avoid the Embassy Suites in Elizabeth NJ. Their park n cruise sounds like a good deal - UNTIL you use the shuttle service. We did not know ahead of time that the "package" only applies to 2 people. We're taking our daughter and grandson with us this time and they wanted to incur an "extra fee" of $40 pp for r/t on the shuttle. Thanks to the hotel's reservations lady who advised us of this.

Beware of these hotel shuttle services ahead of time because this particular shuttle picks up and drops off people at a lot of the area hotels and they're making a killing, gouging people like that.

We are better off staying at the Courtyard Mariott just across the way and just taking a cab or uber service to/from the pier and using the hotels park and fly even though they do not have shuttle service to Cape Liberty or Manhattan.

Just a side note - you know how Embassy Suites has the manager's special? The one at Elizabeth has it too - but you have to buy drinks after the first free drink!

The various hotels and sellers of stay/park/cruise packages for Cape Liberty are very specific about how many people will be transported to and from Cape Liberty for the quoted price. There is often a quoted price for additional people.

There have been many posts about how New Jersey liquor laws for "Happy Hours" are limited to one offering, which means that the Embassy Suites in Elizabeth can legally offer only one free drink. The Embassy Suites web site clearly states "Service of alcohol subject to state and local laws."
