snausman Posted November 16, 2009 #26 Share Posted November 16, 2009 By the bottle... which I think is stupid. By the glass would have been so nice! Oh, OK I get it. I agree with you by the glass would be so much nicer.
Rare aml3679 Posted November 17, 2009 #27 Share Posted November 17, 2009  I anxiously waited for November 15th go get here and it is now the 16th and I cannot book. I told the TA at Celebrity that other people on the same cruise were not having a problem. She said that was impossible. I guess I will just have to wait. yellowsnow Posted November 17, 2009 #28 Share Posted November 17, 2009 My GF and I looked at the drink packages today and we're kinda excited about them! This is our second cruise, on our first cruise we drank and were at times kinda worried on where our alcohol tab was at :) then we had an excursion in Cozumel that was all you could drink, and we didn't drink that much, but it felt good to not have to keep track and just order whenever it felt right. We were thinking about getting a wine package before knowing other packages would be all you can drink, but the wine packages represent only a 5% discount, that's like, $5 in our case. Hardly an incentive to make us prepay... who knows? maybe one of us won't be feeling good one day and decide against the wine with dinner or something like that. So we both think we would enjoy the beer and frozen drink packages. I drink more beer and she drinks more cocktails. The question we have is if it would be ok for us to exchange drinks once in a while so we don't have to drink the same thing over and over again for 5 days. I feel like it should be completely fine since we would be ordering the same exact amount of drinks we would be ordering if we weren't exchanging. What do you guys think? Also, what is the uncorking fee if we bring a bottle of wine to dinner?

Norcal Cruiser Posted November 17, 2009 #30 Share Posted November 17, 2009 I am right there with you for a house wine package. We normally order bottles of Celebrity souvenier label wines which are Wente label wines.Normally around 24.00 dollars a bottle.I feel cheap ordering that but that's normally the good wine I buy locally. debadoo Posted November 17, 2009 #31 Share Posted November 17, 2009 I have a question. The liquor package could be very beneficial for me as I love vodka and my last cruise they were like $7 per drink. One long night in the casino could pay for itself easily. :) That said, can you use the package in the casino?
kitkat9438 Posted November 18, 2009 #32 Share Posted November 18, 2009 Yes you can use the package in the casino. The description says: Whether you choose the Classic or Premium Liquor Package, you can take advantage of an unlimited variety of the selection of spirits available onboard Celebrity, per person. Whether in a bar, lounge, or any of our restaurants, simply show your SeaPass Card to indicate your participation. The waitress will get your drink from the bar and you will just have to show her your pass with the liquor sticker on it.

I don't want to carry around a bottle. Bummer on the wine packages.
debadoo Posted November 19, 2009 #34 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Thank you for your response! I was only concerned because there was no mention of the casino. You would never know I work for attorneys, eh? :)
sunlovermtl Posted November 19, 2009 #35 Share Posted November 19, 2009 I'm trying to figure out if the price of this package is worth it. Does anyone know the avg price of a frozen drink on Celebrity? That will help me figure out if I am likely to drink the equivalent ;-) $7-$8 usually. Some days the specialsa are $5 so if you have them during the day and before or after dinner it is worth it.

txsloth Posted November 19, 2009 #39 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Are the mixers included? Cannot find this info on the site. If you are talking about the $80 bar set up, yes mixers (and I think some snacks) are included.

SW.FloridaPhil Posted November 19, 2009 #41 Share Posted November 19, 2009 I would presume that mixers are included. If not, then X is serving just shots? Makes sense that one could order a rum and coke, vodka and orange, gin and tonic etc. But what about a bloody mary, martini, white Russian?? What I don't like is that at the bottom of Celebrity's beverage package page are the words "other terms and restrictions may apply". What does that mean? As for the term no sharing of package, how is that enforced? I go to the pool bar, order a rum and coke for my wife, drop it off and proceed to the bar just inside the ship. At that point I order a vodka and soda for myself. Seems like a no brainer to me. Usually we do the rumrunner thing but this may be worth the extra money to avoid the rumrunner hassle. I hope someone who sails in the near future will post what they observe on this subject.
tteettimes Posted November 19, 2009 #42 Share Posted November 19, 2009 now let's see-------Premiere liquor package is $760 PP = $1520 for 2 people. my wife and I can hang with the best but we'll never begin to drink that much. is that the same for a 7 day cruise as a 10 day or any other length cruise?? I know that's not right---but does Celebrity explain the difference somewhere? scratchin' my grey hair on this one

tteettimes Posted November 19, 2009 #44 Share Posted November 19, 2009 Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!! why pay $1520 when you can but 2 or 3 $80 packages :rolleyes:
COASTERBOB Posted November 19, 2009 #45 Share Posted November 19, 2009 First, let me say that I do ENJOY my beer. The price for my cruise (9days) is $310 for the bber pkg., which includes the 15% gratuity. I like the choices of imports and microbrews and figure one of them would cost about $6.00 each. That's approx 50 beers for 9 days, or 5-6 beers per day. That might work for a guy like meself, especially on the sea days. But I do like a martini just before dinner as well. Oh well, decisions, decisions.....LOL
ehrlichpuppy Posted November 20, 2009 #46 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Are martinis included in the liquor package ? I don't drink all that much at home, but they do have some yummy martinis. I think the last time I was on X I had a really good chocolate rasberry one. Otherwise. i might think about a frozen drink package

Every time you order a drink it is run through their system and ordering two drinks on the same card within mins. of each other may through up a flag.. Then again maybe not. tteettimes Posted November 20, 2009 #48 Share Posted November 20, 2009 is the package price the same regardless of the length of the cruise??? I can drink more on a 10 day cruise than I can on a 7 day cruise. is the price the same????:confused::confused:
swigso Posted November 20, 2009 #49 Share Posted November 20, 2009 The price is per day per person, I wish they would have introduced a package where you can choose any drink, I like a beer during the day but a Brandy or a Whiskey after dinner. Maybe when the first users report back we will get a better outlook on the scheme
LMKohler Posted November 20, 2009 #50 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Does anyone know how many bottles of wine are included in each package. They give you a selection of the wines and the price per package but not the actual number of bottles? Thanks
