Cruise Junky Posted January 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Hi - Oceania has loaded a 4 + minute video of Marina on their Facebook site if anyone is interested.

jgiblin Posted January 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2010 All about the food, nothing else. Interesting. That was my take on the video as well. Dining is certainly a component of the cruise experience, especially on Oceania, but it is not the cause d'etre.
MightyQuinn Posted January 21, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2010 All about the food, nothing else. Interesting.Actually there are 2 videos on the Facebook link that Friscorays posted. The link opens to the video about food. If you click "next" on the top right, there's another video that takes you on a guided tour of Marina. As FDR says on that video, the #1 brand characteristic of Oceania is fine cuisine, so it's no wonder that they'd produce a separate piece just about food. I agree with Lyn, is there really anything else? ;);)
LuAnn Posted January 21, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Fun to finally see what this famous person looks like! I think it is terrific that he is involved with the CC boards...and he responds, listens and includes his customers in the process of refining the company...a very savvy business man! tak2 Posted January 21, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2010 I heard a story about how FDR walked around with measuring tape on one of the R ships years ago, and was mistaken by his staff , who didn't recognize him , as a construction worker. Talk about hands-on as a CEO, that's hard to beat.
hulamoon Posted January 21, 2010 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Does anyone have any idea how big the balconies are on Marina? Thanks!
Friscorays Posted January 22, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2010 Roughly 40 square feet. Ocean view 242 square feet as opposed to 282 for Veranda suites.
hulamoon Posted January 22, 2010 #11 Share Posted January 22, 2010 Okay it is all making sense to me now, thank you Friscorays. Any idea if they can fit loungers on the balconies or if it will be chairs only? We are looking at booking the Miami to Barcelona, (although I dread the daily time change). We are looking for a line with a more restricted smoking policy and this looks good so far.
Friscorays Posted January 22, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 22, 2010 Renderings in the brochure show a single lounger lengthwise (going door to door). Wild conjecture: I bet in reality there will be two chairs. Forty square feet is not deep enough to accomodate two loungers.
hulamoon Posted January 22, 2010 #13 Share Posted January 22, 2010 Thank you, I haven't found that rendering yet. But 40 feet is small.
Friscorays Posted January 22, 2010 #14 Share Posted January 22, 2010 They cabin renderings are in the brochure but also available on Oceania's site: http://www.oceaniacruises.com/ships/marina/staterooms/veranda.aspx
