Carnival Pride Review 5-9-10 with pics.

My husband and I are also on the Pride on September 12. We just got off the Caribbean Princess on Tuesday and we can not wait for September!:)

I have noticed a trend, all of the reviews of the Pride have been the Port Canaveral itenary ie both Marks, Carrie, cantwait06. I haven't read anythat included Grand Turk, HMC and Freeport.

The SIX PACK of Jim Beam, ahh I mean Lipton Iced Tea.

 

 

 

 

Alright, Now for everyone that needs to know ..... LOL ..... I bought a 12 pack of Lipton Iced Tea. I then removed 6 bottles from the packaging and then carefully removed one bottle at a time from the shrink wrap, opened them and refilled them with NEW tea!!! I then placed them back into the shrink wrap being careful not to stretch it.

 

This will hopefully settle all the questions about my booze smuggling!!:cool:

That itin. is a summer only thing - May to Sept. maybe? You should start seeing some soon. It still alternates with the regular old Port Canaveral/Nassau/Freeport one, though, so it's a relatively small number of cruisers taking that itinerary. HAL tends to use Half Moon more in the winter so not as much space there for Carnival ships that time of year.

Alright, so after a busy and crazy weekend, Im gonna try to get some posts up.

 

So, where did I leave everyone? I know, we went back to the room to go to sleep and I was gonna wake up early and take a walk with the camera. I did however forget something. I forgot the towel animal and the Fun Times for the next day. Well one problem. No towel animal. I didn't take a picture of the towel animal. Why? Cause they didn't make us one. No animal. We were a little unhappy. I did however get the Fun Times!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We read over the first full fun day at sea and went off to bed.

 

It was a quiet night for us, however my parents next door were woken up around 3:30 by a loud strange noise. It sounded like a helicopter they said. They got up and looked outside. It was a helicopter. They watched as it hovered over the back Lido deck and picked someone up. They realized that the boat wasn't moving. They said it was freaky, especially since Titanic was on TV that night. Good movie to watch on a ship right? LOL We later found out that one of the passengers had a stroke.

After a dream filled night and the OH MY GOD bed, I woke up around 8:30 and grabbed a quick shower. Sam was still sleeping so I snatched the camera and away I went.

I decided some coffee was in order so I grabbed a cup and began heading to my favorite part of the ship. The Front.

I decided to head back inside and grab another cup of coffee. I first had to go check out the Glass Stairs. They are at the top of the Atrium, and wrap from the Lido buffet area, Mermaids Grille, to David's Steakhouse in the funnel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

While standing and snapping a few shots I could smell all the breakfast food cooking. I made my way back down to Mermaid's Grille for that coffee and ended up with a little bit more.

 

I finished eating and walked around some more. I walked up front to the gym, just to say I went to the gym. I also made my way back to the Sunset Garden and actually walked up to where Camp Carnival is at. That is where I came across Real Virtuality! The Arcade.

 

 

 

Now, there is a little porthole window in the Arcade that looks right out to the Staff's deck area and hot tub. Check it out!

By this point, it was about 10 or so. I decided to head back down to the room and see if the wife was waking up anytime soon. As I figured she was still in bed. I decided to go sit out on the balcony and finish my coffee.

Now, We had the pleasure of meeting some really awesome folks on here. We chatted it up for many weeks before the cruise on the roll call. We decided that on the first full day at sea, that at 11:00am we would have a meet n greet on the Lido Aft. We all decided to wear leis as a way to identify the group. Our group of five also decided to wear our Miller Lite shirts and flip flops.

Samantha finally got up and we met up with the rest of the family. We headed on up to the Lido Aft and I had to start the day off right. Sam had her Mimosa, while a Bloody Mary was just the thing.

 

 

 

11:00 came and our Cruise Critic Roll Call Meet n Greet got into full swing. We chatted it up for 30-40 minutes and then made our way. We ended running into them through out the ship, and the pleasure of partying a little with some of them.

At about noon, Mom, Dad, and Sis made their way about the ship and snapped some more shots. We just hung out for awhile and then went walking also.

By about mid day, the water was beginning to turn a real nice shade of blue. We decided to head down to the room and get changed into some sun soakin clothes. We got stopped along the way by a Family Fued game going on in the Raphael Lounge, Deck 3 Aft. We played, and lost miserably. It was still fun though. We got back to the room and checked out the churning blue water coming from behind us.

We made our way back up to the Lido deck and found ourselves a few chairs. Our cocktail waitress made her rounds and we were in business. One bucket of Miller Lite. It was just about that time to drink a little beer and change them pasty white legs into something a little more tan, and I didn't need anything else.

Ok, so after loungin around all afternoon which what is wrong with that?

Its Vacation.

At around 4:00 or so we figured we would head back to the room and get all cleaned up for Dinner. We kinda lounged around the room a little while and then finally got all dolled up.

We figured out how to keep the balcony door open,

It was also elegant night at sea and the Captain's Celebration. We got all cleaned up and made our way to the Promenade deck, Deck 2 to see all the ruckus. We found all the officers including the Captain in the Grand Atrium and drinks were a dollar off and not the usual Free. We got a couple drinks and went up a deck to the Atlantic Deck to check out the photos. After walking around a while we headed on down to the Normandie Dining Room. Of course Lobster and Prime Rib were on the menu tonight, so we were all about some damn good food.

We headed to the Dining room around 645ish and was told that there would be a little wait. A little wait didn't bother us. They gave us a lighty-buzzy thing that went off when they had a table for us. They were roughly the same things they use at just about any resturant. We walked outside onto the Atlantic Outer Deck and checked out the sea a little bit.

The buzzy-lighty thing then went off. We had to wait a whole 7-8 minutes. No biggie! We got seated at a gourgeous table by the window. We had an awesome view of the sunset while we ate an amazing dinner.

After stuffing myself to the gills the dessert menu made its appearance. Right from the start I new I was gonna need some coffee.

After opening up the top button on our pants we were able to breath and make our way out of the dining room. We decided to skip out on the remander of the night in our dressed up attire and get changed into something a little more casual. We headed up to the rooms and got changed. However when we got to our room, Putu our room steward had left us with the suprise we had been waiting for.

 

 

We also received our invitations to the Past Guest Party the next evening.

I thought they were amazing and i dont even like mushrooms! I made sure I had two servings of the lobster. I dont know what I like better the lobster or the grilled shrimp that come with it....oh and I cant forget the pumpkin soup. I got the recipe and make it every year for thanksgiving but mine is just never as good as on the boat!

We got changed in something a little more comfy and casual, I had a much needed bourbon, we decided to head down to the Casino.

 

 

After spending a little time and as Kirk would say "donating" a little money to the casino, we headed to the Taj Mahal for the show. The Show was called "Wonderful World." It was a pretty decent show about music all around the world. We then stuck around to catch the R-rated Comedy Show with Tommy Drake. He was friggin Hilarious. We could not stop laughing the entire show.

After the show we first caught our breaths and then headed up to see if Roger was playing in the Ivory Bar. No Luck! The bar was shut down and so we began heading back to our rooms to call it a night. However, when we got back to the room, for some reason we were hungry. It was the pizza craving. Pops, Sam and I took a walk upstairs to the Mermaids grill at about 1:30 or so and got some pizza. Sam had a Calzone which she said was really good. Pops and I split a pizza. The pizza was fresh and out of the oven in 5 minutes. The calzone took about 7.

After finishing our late night pizza fest we walked back down to the room and called it a night. Sam and I decided to go sit outside and sit for a while before going to sleep. After a half-hour or so we propped the door open and crawled into bed. It was so relaxing hearing the ocean up close that we were out in about 5 minutes or so.
