Lots of wonderful pictures the last couple of days.

I especially the Memorial Day parades and pictures of the various cemeteries.

Sadly the last couple of years our small community had to stop the parades -- financial problems.

 

I agree, lots of wonderful pictures. I wish CC had a "like" feature, so we could acknowledge without re-posting.

 

That is a shame your community had to stop the parades due to financial reasons- seems like it should be a priority :(

It is a shame that our parades had to be stopped.

But many of our small towns are raising our taxes just to keep our police departments -- some communities don't even have a police department any more. We are down to 2 volunteer fire departments with very old equipment. And of course garbage fees go up every year. And unemployment has been on the rise here. We had 3 car dealerships -- all gone -- lost revenue.

Cute little guy. I'm a bit of a bird watcher and I loved seeing all the different birds on our trip down under. I think one of my first purchases was a book so I could identify what I saw.

 

He was not so little actually (photo is a bit deceptive ...)

I remember you posting about watching the birds here on your trip and think of you every time I post a bird photo here :)

Not saying our crop is small, but that is a ¼" drip line in the foreground...

But it probably will taste like a strawberry - unlike some of the big ones you get at the supermarket which taste sort of like red cardboard. :)

 

I remember my Grandmother telling about picking enough wild strawberries to make jam.

Very nice! I've only been to Manhattan once, but I love how the buildings are silhouetted by the sunrise in your photos.
