CalTex88 Posted July 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2010 that is the question. Should we all leave our Crocs at home? They used to be "in",,, and I never had any. Now they are "out" and I have some. LOL Think I'll bring them anyway... they are "functional", protect my toes, water-proof, easy-on, easy-off. LemurCat Posted July 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Only for kids....... Or water excursions. Or if you have major podiatric problems. Otherwise, get a nice pair of flip flops. And trust me, there were never "in" where I live. ;)

cruisegrandma3 Posted July 23, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2010 leave them!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree. Doesn't matter how nice you look, one look down at those and it spoils the whole outfit. Save them for home.
LemurCat Posted July 23, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Not all Crocs are evil. The clogs most definitely are. They make several sandal and flip-flop styles that aren't terrible.
jpg1747 Posted July 23, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 23, 2010 I'm more concerned with safety than how I look. When I need water shoes on an excursion, that's what I wear.

Quilting_Cruiser Posted July 23, 2010 #11 Share Posted July 23, 2010 I don't wear crocs (or flip-flops), but if I did wear them and found them to be comfortable and convenient, I would bring them. :) Hey, Mario Batali wears them to work. :D

Having been 6 in 1984, I can assure you I would never be caught wearing Crocs. It was all about the Jelly Shoes.
travel girl23 Posted July 23, 2010 #19 Share Posted July 23, 2010 There's nothing wrong with Crocs. We love ours and bought them several years ago especially for the cruise. We see them on all of our cruises. I prefer the Croc flip flops (the Athens). A lot of people don't like them and think they're ugly but there are just as many who love them. They're comfortable and lots of people wear them. If you like them, take them. They are great for walking in ports. So comfortable. And, now there are many styles to choose from. McDebbie Posted July 23, 2010 #20 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Take them. I live in Crocs - not the clog type but the sandals. Most people don't even know they are Crocs and don't know what they are missing. ;)
okwriter Posted July 23, 2010 #21 Share Posted July 23, 2010 I'll buck the trend since I can't wear flip-flops. I took a pair of Crocs on my first cruise in January and wore them almost non-stop. They were good for travel (lots of walking, schlepping luggage, etc., in airports). They were great on deck, as they gave me traction. They were super on shore excursions. My feet never hurt, and I could rinse the sand out easily. The only other pair of shoes I took was black sandals for elegant night. And if YOU love how they feel, to heck with everyone else! They didn't pay for your trip!
MikeM Posted July 23, 2010 #22 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Take them as I do. Need them for elegant night MDR.
big_duck Posted July 23, 2010 #23 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Crocs aren't very stable on wet decks making them impractical for wear on board. They make an excellent beach sandal though.
