gwinel Posted August 7, 2010 #78 Share Posted August 7, 2010 Someone help! I use an electric mobility cart on ships, can get around except for distances. I don't need a handicapped (modified) room except that I need enough space to park the cart. If you have a balcony cabin look around to see if there is room to park inside and post what you see. There wasn't room in a balcony cabin on the Ecstasy and I'm afraid to take a chance. Thank you!!! elizabeth
travelingla Posted August 16, 2010 #79 Share Posted August 16, 2010 WOW! This was a fabulous review -- loved all your photos -- I've been on the Triumph and took hundreds of photos -- of every inch and all the food but your photos are so much better than mine~ Do you mind telling me what type camera you used? I may need to upgrade. :) Don't tell me it was your iPhone! ;) I've found my iPhone to be as good as my 'expensive' camera at times. Thanks for the time and effort to share your trip -- makes me want to go back soon!

Britbrie Posted August 16, 2010 Author #81 Share Posted August 16, 2010 Love the pics. Do you have any more of your cabin? Especially ones that would show the size? Was it more rectangular or square? Would there be room for an electric cart to park at night? Thanks, elizabeth There would definitely be NO room to park a cart in that room! It was very cramped. MisterVile Posted August 18, 2010 #83 Share Posted August 18, 2010 I loved this review, you went on the exact same cruise 2 weeks after i did. There was a storm brewing so most of the progresso excursions were cancelled, i really didn't like walking around so i guess that was a negative experience there. We also went to playa mia in cozumel, that is where i proposed to my girl friend. The picks you took look better so i am gonna show them to my family. haha. the "authentic" Mexican buffet strangely had American food like mac and cheese. lol

adjburch Posted August 31, 2010 #88 Share Posted August 31, 2010 Your pics are so much better than any we have taken with any camera we have purchased that now I'm looking at yet another camera! We leave in less than 2 weeks so any suggestions on a new camera? I was please with my last canon till I saw your photos. Hurry and reply cause my shopping days are numbered before I leave for my next cruise and I live in a small town and will have to take a day trip to a larger city to buy it!!!!! Thanks in advance. Britbrie Posted August 31, 2010 Author #89 Share Posted August 31, 2010 Well thank you so much! I am a photographer, and those pictures I took with my Nikon Coolpix S220... only 10 megapixels with a 4x zoom, and I used iPhoto to do minor edits. They have the Nikon Coolpix's that have much higher megapixels, and better zooms... but it's not my primary camera so I don't have a need for anything better. I normally shoot with a Canon 30D, but I was on vacation and didn't want to take my SLR. SO, good luck! I used to work at Best Buy, and I STRONGLY suggest looking at the Nikon Coolpix camera line. Have a great vacation!

txlnghrn79 Posted July 19, 2011 #92 Share Posted July 19, 2011 We (me -32, my wife -28, a friend -32, my parents both 66) leave on the Triumph on Dec 10 out of Galveston so this review has been very helpful! Got a couple of ?'s though if you dont mind answering... 1. I do not care for Sushi but the friend coming with us does, so my ? is do they charge extra for it or is it included in your cruise? 2. How many pools are on this ship? 3. Anything that we definantly need to do/not do? Thanks in advance!

sailingawaysoon Posted July 19, 2011 #94 Share Posted July 19, 2011 Great review! Love all the pics (especially the food pics). How was the Bing cherry soup? I've never been adventurous enough to try the fruit based soups.

hillslife Posted July 20, 2011 #98 Share Posted July 20, 2011 Just got back from the Triumph yesterday - 4 day cruise out of New Orleans. Nice ship; pretty clean, but per staff, it sails really full each trip - so lots of people everywhere. Here is a snapshot of our experience: 1. Strong sewer smell on 2 difference days on lower decks....our steward told us this was very common for this ship 2. Most entertainment was just ok - nothing spectacular....games shows by Tex, the CD were great (Minute to Win it; Newlywed Game) 3. No jam for scones at the tea and they could/would not get any, although several guests were asking for it. 4. Most events started late at least 5-10 minutes. 5. Trivia with Alex from Minnesota (cruise staff) was frustrating. He made up random questions as he went along and didn't know the answers. He expected someone to know them (ie - number and names of providences in Canada; 8 letter word starting and ending with 'e'; name of team and score of 1990 Super Bowl). He was a happy guy, but very annoying. 6. Food was great - lots of it and good variety 7. Very cute/clever towel animals 8. Magician on board (from India) was Excellent - he came to dining rooms and set up on deck 5 for show....be sure to watch him. 9. Table clean up was minimal - so hard to find a clean table to sit at without bussing your own table at buffet/outside on Lido deck. 10. They have a regular comedy club set up - so lots of comedy shows...same 2 comedians - funny stuff. They have family and adult shows - would recommend the adult ones for sure. 11. Free sushi 3 of the days...all you could eat. We had a good time - didn't let this stuff get to us - it was a 4 day 'booze cruise', but there was no excuse for some of these things - especially the 'smell' issue....Have been on many cruises and have never dealt with this before.... Enjoy your trip....
blueangel74 Posted July 20, 2011 #99 Share Posted July 20, 2011 Ty for posting your review of your trip. I'm going on the Playa Mia beach break on my cruise in October. Your pics got me ready for it. Can't wait. Cruised on Triumph in October 2010 & thought she is a beautiful ship w/ an awesome cruise. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
