PP will come out with a private group, (usually on Yahoo) a few months before the cruise. That one will be pretty active. A lot of people do not know about cruise critic

Hi!

Will they (PP) provide the info to get on the yahoo group?

I know what you mean about Cruise Critic - a number of people don't know about this site.

I did not know that Pied Piper plans their own excursions for each port other then the beach day. I will be anxious to see what they are. And thanks for the Yahoo information. Hopefully it will be active when it is set up.

Yes, PP will send out info on the yahoo group, and yes it does tend to get pretty lively, but even last year when we had about 1100 on the ship there were only 288 on the yahoo group. They are the one who tend to love to talk about the cruise tho!!

Yes they do have excursions every port day, but the selection is kind of limited. They are a lot of fun and we only do those when sailing with PP!!

Would someone who has been on a pied piper Post thanksgiving cruise in the past give us an idea what the group does the first night, second night, third night and so on during the cruise. How do they know people in the group from other people on the cruise? bands? seapass? dog tags? Sorry for all the questions.

they give us a little "gay rainbow flag" pin, to wear at all times, so we recognize each other. they also use that as "admission" to our private functions. very subtle but it works beautifully.

hi boys,

this is, and has always been, my humble opinion.

you're on vacation. there are no rules. there are 2 formal nights, and we dress for neither. i wear slacks and a very nice dress shirt, all 7 nights. many wear tuxes, and have their pictures taken, and make a grand deal of it all and i think that's fabulous. it's their vacation too. there are lots of us in shirtsleeves. (i don't bring a sports coat or tux), many in jackets or suits, and maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the crowd dresses to the nines. all up to you, babe. and repeat the mantra, you're on vacation.

boys,

there are many many single guys cruising on this ship. last year, as in all years, there was a "singles" mixer very early on, and there were hundreds of guys there. all wore name tags and had a scavenger hunt, and by the end of a couple of hours anyone who wanted to, knew a load of new people. shipboard friends, as it were. it was a lot of fun. so don't fret if you're single. there are also a lot of couples that welcome singles in conversation, company, shore trips, etc. it's a great experience.

Hi All!

I know it's been awhile since we've posted, but have been lurking. We are looking forward to this vacation. It will be our first with PP and Celebrity and from what I've seen seen also a great time!

Cruisydave - We agree with you on the issue of dress and formal attire. We will be joining you in the category of no jacket! It's less to have to drag along!

Anybody up for ATV'ing? Besides the 1 stop they'll have the beach party, hopefully there will be ATVs at another. Have done it on a few cruises and desert in NV and it's a lot of fun.

Hi, Ray

I was wondering the same thing.

Rick

Hey Guys,

I recall they will send it out with the excursion info they have planned for Pied Piper. Now you have to keep up on 2 Cruise Critic boards and a Yahoo group!

Oh, if the Pied Piper excursion is not in St. Maarten (I think it will be), is anyone inclined to go ATV'ing? That's the only port that has it unfortunately.

Oh, and if anyone wants to meet at Bayside Marketplace for drinks the night before (Friday night around 8:30pm), send me an email at cmy1971c@aol.com. I'm starting a list of names/emails/optional cell numbers to organize a time/place to meet there. We'll send an email that week with the place and time (and I'll send my cell to find us). A few people on the other board (and this one) are up for it already!

Hey guys, My friend Scott and I are both single and will be on this sailing as well. We're really looking forward to meeting everyone. I'm from PA & he's from Newbrunswick, Canada. Do we have any idea where the # of passengers in the group is right now? Also, can anyone provide a link to the Yahoo! group?

I'm really excited to hear Leslie Jordan will be entertaining us....now if they can get Lisa Lampenelli or something it would be awesome!

Welcome cruisegoer! Pied Piper will not state how many people are booked for the cruise this year until the week before we leave. Over the past 6 years there have been between 400 and 1100 on there cruise.

Pied Piper has not set up the Yahoo Group thing yet. I wold expect that in the next 10 days or so.

Leslie Jordan is going to be awesome!!!

74 days!!

Last night I was bored so I did it, made me excited to think how soon it's coming up. I also purchased the Premium liquor package for the week....I can't wait to try those marvelous martinis.

Now you're talkin'!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, when I wasn't paying attention we went below 60 days to go! yay!

I broke down and bought the premium drink package for myself. I have doubts as to whether I'll get through that much liquor, but I know myself and just knowing I have to pay makes me change my behavior. I like the idea that virtually every part of my trip is now paid for - flight, pre-cruise hotel, cruise, bar tab - check! Now I just have to cover my casino "donations" and specialty restaurant charges. Who knows, I might even decide to stay on the ship in St Maarten now.

I originally thought "I'll just buy whatever I want and see what it adds up to" but I know it would never work. I just know that I'd stop myself. Not that I expect to be fall down drunk - I don't actually LIKE being drunk, but I do spend cruises with a drink more or less permanently affixed to my hand, so now I won't have to keep drinking it if it gets warm, an I don't have to have that mental "should I wait an hour for the free beer at the Elite party?" debate. :)

Mental note to self : drink package ALSO includes juice, water, soda, smoothies, specialty coffee, etc. No sense suffering over buffet coffee when cova cafe is beckoning!
