Blizzard Making it Rough on the Jewel

Not sure about the Jewel, but the Gem made it safely to Port Canaveral, the seas were rough, but it was worse 2 weeks ago. On Sunday it was foggy, rough, cold and rainy. Unfortunately there was a medical emergency and they had to go close to the coast line near Cape Fear to have someone taken off, in a boat. Don't know the status of the patient.

Don't feel bad for the current Jewel Passengers. They will probably be using the pools today (Tuesday). The ones to feel sorry for are those who left the Jewel last Sunday morning and planned to go to any of the New York area airports. They may not get a flight for days? Tomorrow the Jewel passengers will be sitting under a palm tree. If they had a bumpy ride Sunday night, it still beats sleeping in an airport.

Hi folks - We have neighbors on the Jewel right now (we're pet sitting for them) and they called from Port Canaveral. It was rough sailing out - they had some broken glass - but once they got south of the storm it was fine. The hot tubs are open and being well used. It's not the warmest cruise, but at least they're on the Lido deck while our oldest son digs out their driveway for them.:p

Do you know how late they arrived in

Port Canaveral? glad there was no

upside christmas trees. lol

Not sure, but their sons told our son that the ship made pretty good time through the storm.

Hope you folks sailing on Sunday have a great cruise - at least the weather looks warmer!
