Valor cabin 9200

I have been watching the prices/availability of cabins for the Sunshine Transatlantic crossing next November for about a month. Yesterday, I noticed a something I hadn't seen before: a 6J Scenic OV cabin had become available (there are only four on the Sunshine and they've been sold out since I began looking). I immediately booked it and can't wait to take some pictures of the view as we travel from Barcelona to New Orleans. I will definitely post them when we get back.

You are going to LOVE this room! I saw them in October on the Valor and it is GORGEOUS. Can't wait to do one myself... lovely!

My family booked this room (9200) on the Conquest right before it went to dry dock in October 2012. The rooms were not yet available and then one day when I was repricing my Early Saver, I stumbled across this and immediately called my travel agent. I ended up going from a 6B to the 6K for our December cruise. My wife and son were in complete awe. This was a great room to have for our 10 yr anniversary. Every morning when I came back from the gym, I would raise the electric shades and watch my son wake up and think he was still in a dream with the incredible view. The 2nd bed is a full size sofa bed and retracts to give more room during the day. There was so much room in there that we had no issues bumping into things. The bathroom is the same as the standard cabins. The cabin itself was extremely quiet, but we did feel a little movement. It was great to only have to walk about 100 feet to the pool deck and a few landings down from the Camp Carnival. Had a great time. Too bad the word is out and I will probably never be able to book this room again.

I just had 9201 on my Feb 17th sailing on the Conquest. Do you remember if Carolina was your room steward? I am heading back to the Conquest and back to room 9201 for my second leg of a b2b In November and was wondering if she would still be there. 9201 also has a full size sofa sleeper as well as a chaise lounger in front of the windows.

I LOVED this cabin.

We had Casy (India) as our room steward. He was awesome. He even saw us in port and gave us some suggestions in Nassua. We were on the port side so that's why we had a different one. I was so amazed how quiet it was on that deck. I totally had a relaxing vacation. Looking forward to the Breeze later on this year. I have a great pic of my son sitting in the lounge chair looking out over the ocean.

I was scanning cruises for next winter and checked out the Glory itinerary and available OV cabins. When I saw a Scenic OV cabin was available, I had to look at the picture and fell in love.:D It is the main reason I selected this cruise. After seeing all these great pictures, I can hardly wait to take up residence in 9198.

Seriously considering this type of room for our 25th Anniversary cruise in 2014, specifically on the Valor. A few questions:

Which other CCL ships have this type of room?

What areas were above/below the cabin?

Noise factor from areas above/below the cabin?

I was looking at the Junior OR Ocean Suite until another CC member suggested this one. And the price is sure a lot less on the Scenic Grand OV.

Valor, Conquest, Glory, and now Sunshine have these types of cabins. They are category 6J and category 6K. Some are for 2 passengers, while others are for 4 passengers. The 6K's are 320 sq. ft, and there are only 2 of those per ship.

Below would be the bridge. For that reason, you are required to keep the shades drawn "between sunset and sunrise." There is some question as to whether you can leave them open at night if you have your cabin lights off.

Above you on panorama deck will be other cabins and the "secret deck." The "secret deck" on lido deck was eliminated and included in the square footage of these scenic ocean view and scenic grand ocean view cabins. As far as noise goes, the only noise I can think of would be noise coming from above if people slam the doors that lead outside to the secret deck.

Of more concern to some would be that these cabins are all the way forward and for that reason may give the feeling of more movement. I've been as far forward as the 3rd cabin back from the bow and didn't experience any motion problems, so I'm hoping that won't be an issue for me. I have 9201 booked on the Glory for December and have only had balcony cabins before, so I will be deciding whether to go back to a lido deck balcony or try one of these again. The 6K's in particular are very limited in number and therefore hard to get.

Thank you, CruzCrazy - very helpful! The motion wouldn't bother us. We've stayed in various ship locations, and it has never bothered us, even during very rough seas.

I'm thinking since there are only 2 per ship, once booked the rate wouldn't drop, as with other cabins that are numerous.

Thanks again!!

Very true about price drops. On my sailing, for a while the price of 8E and 8F balconies dropped lower than what I was paying for a 6K. The balconies have since gone back up in price, though they are almost certain to drop again closer to sail date. I didn't book ES, so no price drops for me after final payment anyway. I'm excited to have this cabin just to experience something so different.

Seems I'm resurrecting an older thread, but just had to post. Found out today from our booking agent that our ship changed from the Liberty to the Valor and I noticed that this type of cabin was available.

We had booked a main deck oceanview for our daughter's family (first time cruisers + our grandchildren) and asked about an upgrade to this category. To our surprise, cabin 9200 was available and, for a reasonable fee, managed to upgrade them to this room.

My wife and I are thrilled that we could book this for them and hope that they have a wonderful first-time experience cruising as a family.

If you Google carnival valor 9200 you will get lots of pictures

The cabin is amazing but it is a long walk

Hello Serene. Don't want to hijack a thread but I did not know how to write you. My family and I have booked the Carnival Breeze and have rooms 6411, 6409, & 6389. Can you give us any advise on noise issues here please??????

Curious to know if this is a first cruise.

I do not like that area. You should be able to move up to the empress deck same area and away from the noise issue from deck 5

You are too close to the casino bar= there is a band that sets up after 9pm and plays til the wee hours of the morning.

Moving up to deck 7 empress deck gets you the same Cbins but between cabin space away from noise isues

I agree with serene that you should move up. 6389 is over the Fun Hub, but it's too close to the oceans plaza area. The other 2 rooms are directly over the oceans plaza, the most busiest nighttime spot on the ship. It's the only place on the ship with a live band. They play late into the night, and it can get loud, especially with all the people cheering & dancing. It's a fun spot, but I would not want to be above it.

Plus, your balcony room is immediately above one of the busiest spots of the lanai (aka outdoor public walkway that sticks out further than your balcony). People like to gather around out there and talk, even late at night. And the public walkway on deck 5 sticks out from the ship all the way around the ship. But where your balcony is, it sticks way way way out even further. It blocks quite a bit of your view. You'll still see the ocean, but you'll see quite a bit of the public deck only 1 floor below you. I would advise to move away from that exact spot for your balcony, no matter what floor you are on. Look at deck 8. There is an upper/lower room there, 8351. Then, you can look at trying to get a balcony and regular interior right next to that room. That would be a great option for you. Deck 8 also has only rooms both above & below, which is ideal. Plus, it puts you 2 decks further up from the deck 5 lanai, so it won't feel like much of an obstruction to your view, if any.

We'll be sailing in this cabin exactly one month from today. We'll try to keep it in order for you! LOL! :) Yes - it is a long walk from the buffet area. However, we normally sail in aft cabins, and those are a long walk from the nightly shows, so it's a trade off I guess. We don't mind walking - it's good exercise.

Thank you one million times over Serene56 and K2!!!!! This is only my 2nd cruise. One last question, 8351 is beside elevators. Will I hear the dings all night? Again my apologies for jumping into another thread.

my preference when sailing today is in cabin 7411 or 7409

you will not hear the dings- the elevators are in the banks you have to walk out your door and around into the hall and into the bank.

this cabin 8351 is now across the hall from the laundry room.

if you are making choices based on what you see online-- there will be a ton more available if you call.

when looking online you will only see a selected few cabins available

For those of you who have sailed in this cabin recently (Valor #9200): Was there a long chaise lounge type piece of furniture in front of the window? Some of the posted pics of this cabin have one - some do not. I sure would like to have one by that big window - I can see myself spending a lot of time laying there doing nothing! Just wondering why it's in some photos and not in others. Really looking forward to this cabin!

you can move the sofa/lounge chair around. Yu can leave it where it is or pull it in front of the window But be warned those people standing at their window in the captains suite will be able to see you lounging at the window.
