beers on tap, draft, draught

Im looking for information regarding what beers they have on tap, or as some refer to it as on draft, or draught, basically beer from a keg system. Specifically on Victory. Also how are there prices. I hope its not your typical bud, coors, miller. I am more of a microbrewed, specialty, import beer drinker. Will there be anything for me and will I be broke by the end of my cruise.

thanks

I feel your pain Crazy. My beer fridge is stocked with the local flavors from Bells Brewery, Founders Brewing Company, and Shorts brewery. Sometimes I get some Dogfish Head 90 or 120 IPA when I can find it.

From what I am expecting on my Freedom Cruise in March, I'm either going to be drinking Fosters Oil Cans (unlikley), or sticking to more of a "fru-fru" drink.

When we were on the Miracle a couple of weeks ago - there was draft beer. But only at the atrium bar (I think) and they only had a couple of choices.

I just got off the Miracle myself a few weeks ago. They had draft Heineken and Amstel Lite (tasted to me alot like Miller Lite) at the Atrium bar, Dr. Frankenstien's Bar (which means I got tappers at Dinner!), the Piano Bar, McGuire's Sports Bar, Casino Bar, MadHatters Comedy Club, and even in one of the lounges, don't remember which one. But, it is everywhere on the Mircale. I only remember one bar where they didn't have it. I faithfully drink draft over canned/bottled anyday. Anyone know what the Spririt has?

I was thinking about what has been posted here, seems the majority of beer selections are your typical offerings, I understand that but wouldn't it be easier and better for the evironment to offer more selections on tap, or is it just me? Think of the recycling of all the bottles consummed on a cruise, not too mention the space they take up. If you had a tap/keg system then nothing to recycle except one or ak a bunch of empty kegs, but imagine how mant bottles the ship has to deal with. Just a thought or my 2 cents.

Last time I was on the Conquest, in 2007, they had a couple of different drafts in one of the bars. I remember one was Miller Lite (I'm not a fan)...not sure about the other. Does anyone know if they have draft on the Fascination? One thing I always crave by the end of a 7 night cruise is a good beer ;)

Carnival beer selection sucks for us beer snobs. On 6 cruises I've only seen one active tap, and it wasn't anything I would drink. Best you will get is Sam Adams, and that's not saying much. Plus its going to cost you over $5 bucks a whack.

The boys at Oscar Blues have some awesome canned beers if you want to smuggle some onboard, and you can also get some of my favs such as Brooklyn Brewery or Newcastle in cans as well. We don't even bother anymore, since its way too much hassle.

Not happening. All bottled. Sorry.

Even with bottles, not much selection other than the big bottlers. Maybe blue moon, Sam, Heini, thats about it.

Huh?

I go with Boddington's, Guinness, and Bass ale -- all decent beers, but nothing like a nice 90 minute IPA on board.

I know a lot of microbreweries are selling beer in cans now 21st ammendment is one, can you put cans in checked baggage, or will it be detected when boarding. What about as a carry on? Also being that the cruise is leaving from Puerto Rico I would have to find some good beer in cans there and then try and get them on the ship is that even possible?

We were on the Valor in January and the best deal is the Fosters "oil cans"

the 24 ounce cans. With the 15% service charge added on it comes to $7 so that's $3.50 for a 12oz beer, so not a bad price for a beer on a ship.

The strange thing is that the Fosters brewed in the US has 5.5% alcohol. We were in the UK in October and we were drinking Fosters and it was 4% alcohol

Yep - on the Miracle AND Dream, there are only two draft choices:

Heineken and Amstel Lite

... which begs the question... WHY are they only two draft beers both from Holland? Sounds like someone cinched a nice contract!

It would only be considered the best deal if you like that beer:D
