when did HAL start giving extra cruise days for booking a suite?

Recommended Posts

It started in the fall of 2009 when the mariner package was introduced.

Only applies to suites if you book regularly - not if you are upgraded

the extra day points and points for spending really only count towards the new Mariner program perks -- as far as getting the good old fashion medals for 100 days, 300 days, 500 days and 700 days -- they don't count towards them -- it has to be the actual days sailed only to get a medal

you can check out the new program here:

Thanks for the replies.

I was just wondering since the only time we cruised on HAL was in 2005 and we had a suite that we booked and we only have 7 days credit.

No big deal though.:)

Have a great day everybody and happy Mothers Day to all the mom's.:)

Unfortunately HAL did not go back and recalculate suite bonus days for cruises prior to the change in late 2009. We'd be 4-star Mariners if they did. :)

The new version of the Mariner program was rolled out by ship over several weeks in Sept. and Oct. of 2009. We were on the Eurodam late Sept. to early Oct. 2009 and were one cruise too early for the new program.

The extra suite days are for original bookings and not for upgrades or upsells. On Vista and Signature ships only suites count as suites. On R and S class ships cabins BB and higher count as suites.

We were on that same Eurodam trip, one too soon. Loved it so much we booked again for this fall, slightly different itinerary.

Does the doubled cruise credit apply to SY suites? Or only to SA, SB, SC and PH? We are booked on the Eurodam for June, 2012. Do you receive cruise credits for shore excursions booked through HAL? Thanks in advance for your insight.

It applies to any cabin labeled with the word "suite," so yes, SYs get the double credit. Any shore excursion bookings associated with your booking number apply toward the $300/day spending credit (even if they are booked and paid for in advance, that is, before you set foot on the ship).
