are you getting sick of the ship yet? Our last cruise was a B2B and by the end, we were ready to come home!

I told my sister about what you said about the vents above the cove balcony (a couple doors down from you in cabin 2284). She said.. "ask Zydeco if he'll go to their cabin and ask them if the vents are noisy/stinky at all". I laughed, but said i would ask for her. It's her first cruise and she's understandably stoked! :)

btw, i love how all the harbour patrol guys either wave or gawk and stare at you as you take their photos.

Your pictures are just gorgeous!

What do you think of the cove balcony? Would you do it again? Have they closed the bad weather doors? We have one on the Breeze inaugural next year, but I am second guessing that decision.

No pictures inside of cabins except for mine. People tend to frown on you walking into their cabins and taking pictures. Exterior pictures are all I have, sorry.

In 21 days in a Cove, they did not close the weather door on Carnival Magic.

On Carnival Dream in the Med, they did close our door once, but we had 40 foot seas and high winds.

Sarge, I was curious how you went with the TransAtlantic on the Dream - did the Atlantic weather in November cause much of a problem? We're looking at booking the Breeze TransAtlantic next year, and I wondered if the cove doors were shut much on the crossing.

Cheers, and thanks for the excellent photoblogs!

Is it just me, or maybe the great photography, but the food looks wonderful!! Even dishes I dont normally like, look delish! I would never think to get fried chicken at dinner, but oh my! That picture made me so hungry for some.

Cant wait to try a cove balcony! I love the sound of the ocean, and I bet this will be intense. Great sleeping! So excited!:D

Thanks for your time and memories! Dot

You're welcome!

The Dream and the Breeze crossings aren't really comparable. Dream was going to NYC and Breeze will be going to Miami. The North Atlantic is rougher than the Southern route.

We didn't have a Cove for the Dream TA, but I'm sure the doors would be shut now and then - particularly between Bermuda and NYC where there was a combination of the remnants of a hurricane merged with a Nor'easter.

Even if they seal the door, you still have a large window - larger than the regular outside cabins to look through. If the conditions are bad enough to seal the doors, I'm not sure too many people would be enjoying balconies at any location.

You're welcome. Everything looks and tastes better when it is served to you!

The fried chicken was pretty darned good, however. And the mashed potatoes are always good. Something like that makes a pretty good snack in between meals - like when the dancers are dancing and you're waiting for dessert! :D
