oh TY Rick, I had the rotation as being 6-10 since Allure was supposed to be doing 11 week rotations...but maybe that was just for 1 rotation a while ago. I'll update the chart tomorrow.

Captain Charles took over the Voyager in Dubai 15 May 2012.

Captain Frank left the Voyager in India a few days later. Frank did not know his next posting.

We will be on the Radiance in Sept to Sydney. Does anyone know if they will have a different master by then? I am so disappointed that Captain Claus won't be on board for that crossing!

Not bad for someone who didn't know what she was doing when she started it in 2006 (not to mention not knowing what she was getting herself into!).

The first two cruises I went on with RCI I had the privilege of having Captain Johnny.

He was phenomenal!

 

from seaman to captain of the mega ship.... He is by far the best shoman around...........HE ALSO BROUGHT AOS INTO NY HARBOR AFTER 9-11...

yes, all ships have 2 masters assigned to them, one is on vacation while the other is working on the ship. They switch off roughly every 10 weeks. RCI has a policy of moving masters around after they've been on a particular ship for about 3 years (could be more, could be less!).

Bill is the Captains Captain, previously the main man that always took out the new ships, like Oasis. He was based in Miami HO as SVP Marine Operations, but has decided to go back to sea. He is a great Captain and person, always around the ship, very social. We like him alot.:D

He is a Captain that usually assigned to the task of bringing out a new ship. If you've ever watched the documentary on the building of the Oasis of the Seas, you've seen Captain Wright.

Capt Bill's ship will be Radiance of the Seas. To keep your master mariner license you have to actually master a ship every 3-5 years. So its time for the mighty captain to return to sea! Wish Capt Nik would decide to keep his license and go back to sea for a spin around the block!

I have met Captain Bill Wright, and I know that there are some old timers here that have sailed with him many times, before corporate moved him ashore. He has the sea in his blood, and Patti's favorite ship, now is going to have her favorite Captain.......all I can say is......Jim....good luck keeping her ashore for any length of time!!:D

Patti, I've sailed with him on a pre-inaugural and watched him on the various documentaries about RCI ships and he is handsome, well-spoken, and a great representative of the line. Now, if he should offer any opinions about the Sunshine Project ships, where they will be deployed and what features they will offer, I'd be sure to pay attention, because of his credibility and the fact that he, among all the Captains in the fleet, is in a position to know what he is talking about.:D

Does anyone know how long he must return to the sea to retain his status? Will it be a lengthy process or can he meet the requirements with just a sailing or two?
