So soon? I was on Brilliance on a cruise that started the 26th of March and ended on April 7th. Captain Manolis was onboard the entire cruise. In other words that means a very short rotation for captain Sørensen.

 

a rotation can be anywhere from 8-12 weeks, the captains decide among themselves. Since I hardly ever get reviews stating who the captain is for Brilliance, I could have been wrong on the 2-26-12 start date for Sorensen.

Capt Rob will be leaving Freedom, don't know when. He's probably going to the first Sunshine class ship with Capt Patrik. So it'll probably be this fall or the beginning of 2013, so he can start training for the first Sunshine class ship.

OK, I was wrong about where Capt Rob was going. So far I have, Capt Rob going to Rhapsody, Capt Zini going to home office, Capt Bill returning to sea, Capt Claus going to Navigator, Capt T. Nyseter going to Allure...

You're way behind in the news...Capt Patrick left Liberty last year to work on the Sunshine class. He'll be the first master on that new ship when she debuts in 2 years. So to answer your question, he's working out of the Miami office.

Good for him..such a nice guy with so much personality..He stopped by our table one night and stayed so long...I thought they should have given him dinner ...Then he also joined our cupcake class a day later..We had him on the LOS 2011 and prior to that he remembered our DS & DIL from their honeymoon cruise when they sailed with him on the AOS 2008...Good luck to him :D

So are you saying you think Capt Claus might still be on RD this summer when Capt Sindre goes home? I know on April 4 Claus said he planned to be in RD in August and that there was a reason the 10 week rotation wasn't always reliable. Then just says later Sindre said the baby is due in late Sept. Which is why he will be home until late October. It all fell into place in my mind (for what that is worth :) )until I saw Claus on the NV list.

 

So if I understand correctly, Capt. Claus may remain with RD until early 2013. Is this correct?

Karen, we are currently on Radiance and have been told that Captain Claus Anderson will not be returning to the Radiance. He has been reassigned to the Navigator when he returns from vacation. No word on who will be his replacement here. If I find out any additional information I will let you know as we will be here until May 25th.

Thanks Patti, you-know-who told me Capt Claus was leaving but I didn't know when. I told him he was due to be moved when I sailed with him Dec 2010. He laughed at me, hugged me, and said "No, my dear, you're wrong, Radiance is my ship, it's already been discussed!" Hahahaha Capt Claus, looks like the wolf knew better than you!

It seems Capt. Claus won't be returning to RD. This was confirmed to me a few days ago by someone on board who should know. (I hope that plan changes) Juan Diego and Beresford are scheduled to be there for your cruise. Jeanie is supposed to go on vacation on Sept. 14. Sorry, I know that isn't what you wanted to hear.

Is it confirmed that Captain Rob will be moving to Rhapsody? Radiance looks like it will be needing a captain and Vancouver is close to Seattle for Captain Rob's home. Maybe I'm just hoping as we have sailed twice with Captain Rob on Grandeur and would love to have him on Radiance next summer!

Having just returned from the 30-Apr to 11-May Honolulu to Vancouver repositioning cruise, I can confirm that Captain Rob is currently on the Rhapsody. We thoroughly enjoyed his wit and sense of humor, especially during his noon updates. He ended his final one with the following gem (I'm paraphrasing): "We'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing Royal Caribbean for your cruise vacation. We hope you enjoyed giving us the business as much as we enjoyed taking you for a ride." :D
