tammi0916 Posted August 6, 2011 Author #26 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Love the review!! We are on the Valor in 3 weeks, same itinerary!!!!!!! I loved reading about Emerson too. I was a cruise staff member on QE 2 in 1997-1998 and I remember how excited I was when I was on my first cruise....and I had never cruised before that!! Ahhh, to be 23 again!! You are going to love the Valor! Make sure you find Everson and tell him we said hello! He was great. I always like meeting and getting to know the folks that work on board and learning about their history. Yes, to be 23 again....ahhhhhh:rolleyes:
evandbob Posted August 6, 2011 #27 Share Posted August 6, 2011 JMO, but that darn big pirate ship bar really ruins the beach landscape. HMC is suffering from overdevelopment, it WAS a gorgeous beach. Glad you had a great cruise, thanks for the review.
Corby114 Posted August 6, 2011 #28 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Absolutely love your detailed review. We are leaving on the Valor on 8/21 and really enjoy your photos. We are cruising the western itin., but are hoping for your sunny weather. Please, no hurricanes.
ZooTycoon223 Posted August 6, 2011 #29 Share Posted August 6, 2011 So you left from Bradley? What airline did you take? Last December we left from Bradley straight to Miami on American Airlines, and for my first flight it was pretty great. But flying home sucked, because it snowed the day in Connecticut the day we were supposed to fly home (day after Christmas). Was flying to Ft. Lauderdale easier or cheaper than straight to Miami? patticake1961 Posted August 6, 2011 #30 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Thank you for sharing this with us! I'll be on the Valor on 9/11, doing the Eastern also. I'm looking forward to reading more about your week and the other ports of call! :)

We flew on Southwest to Fort Lauderdale. Direct flight and free bags! It was much cheaper than flying into Miami! We opted to rent a car and it was an easy drive to Miami and our hotel, but I did look into the SAS transportation it was only 15.00 per person to your hotel but we wanted to have a car. Our travel agent was thinking about putting us on Southwest because of the free bags, but I would much rather have a straight through to Miami fight. tammi0916 Posted August 7, 2011 Author #38 Share Posted August 7, 2011 I have always enjoyed sea days. We got up a bit later than usual and got ready to hang out at the pool. We went for breakfast on the Lido deck and it was pretty crowded. After breakfast; we went to look for chairs…. Hogs were rampant but we found some by the slide so we could watch Victoria going down the slide. The deck is super hot so beware! Just walking to the pool was painful!! After hanging out and Victoria going down the slide a million times; Victoria and I decided we were going to go to the cooking demo at the Steak House. This was a lot of fun and a nice break from being in the sun. The demo was really good and we got samples. Here are some pictures from the demo. After the demo we met up with Dave to go to lunch. We decided to go to the dining room for lunch. It was a change from the lido crowd and was very good. After lunch we found new chairs and hung out by the pool for a while but it was really hot; so we decided to head to the room to relax and we ordered snacks from room service and watched a movie. Tonight was the first elegant night and the captain’s ceremony. So we got cleaned up and dressed for dinner. The captains celebration is different than on our last cruises; they just stand out by the casino bar and take pictures but no speech or free drinks! Here are some pictures from both: After dinner we went to the family friendly comedy show; we saw Allyn Ball and he was really pretty funny. We then walked around and got ice cream and watch some of Megamind on the big screen. Dave wanted to check out the adult comedy show with Allyn so he headed to the Eagles Lounge and Victoria went to listen to music in the main lobby after a while we headed to the room to pack our bag for our snorkeling trip in St. Thomas tomorrow. sayvan Posted August 7, 2011 #42 Share Posted August 7, 2011 sorry you aren't happy but I still have a life, kids and a job that I need to take care. I will finish the review so sorry it's not on your time frame. Wow... I can't believe someone would have the nerve to complain that they don't think your posting fast enough... I guess some of those rude people you mentioned earlier that you had come across on the ship, troll these pages as well. You have nothing to apologize for! Most decent people understand that everyday life sometimes gets in the way of the time one can spend on here. I know, I posted a review of my 14 days through the Panama Canal and it takes a lot of time to post the pictures and write the story and I even kept a daily journal as well. I am loving your review so far... We were on the Valor in 2010 and found her to be a great ship. I look forward to the remaining posts you will make on your time! Thanks for sharing your vacation with us all. :)

discjoker Posted August 7, 2011 #44 Share Posted August 7, 2011 Sorry about the complaint, but when I see"Carnival Valor 7/17-7/24 - The Good, Bad and Ugly!" I want to read it all, not 2 - 3 days of it and have to wait for the OP to come back and write some more. Never understood why many do it this way. Why not write the whole thing and post it I think the overused expression "Get A Life" applies in this case. The OP apparently has one...not sure what your deal is. If you don't like it, you could always not read it. I actually prefer reviews in this format when they are a painstakingly detailed as this one is. It gives something to look forward to...keeps you wanting more. Thank you so much Tammi for this incredible review. I definitely am looking forward to the next installment. deborahjo Posted August 7, 2011 #45 Share Posted August 7, 2011 I love your pictures sooooo much. We will be on the Valor in January. Been on the Liberty so we have sailed this class before but love to see the exact ship. Taking our DIL and grandson who have never cruised before plus our son who has cruised but only on the Paradise. Seeing that slide makes me smile because DH, son and grandson will be there alot. Again thank you so much for your time.

If you don't like it, you could always not read it. The thing is I do want to read it, and because I do have a life, I'd rather it didn't take several days (or more, we'll see) to do it. Sorry about the complaint is the first thing I said. Can't I have an opinion without being flamed?
AllyCat81 Posted August 7, 2011 #47 Share Posted August 7, 2011 Tammi, you have a beautiful family! CCLNCLRCICRUISER Posted August 7, 2011 #48 Share Posted August 7, 2011 Loving the pics! Take your time, and post as your day allows. Can't I have an opinion without being flamed? You can have an opinion and the OP can take as long as she wants to post, because its her review. Since you arent paying for it, not sure how you can complain about the time it takes for her to write it.
