Pinnacle Table-side Flambes?

On our last cruise on the Zaandam in July we were surprised that they were no longer doing any table-side flambes, such as the Steak Diane, Lamb Skewers. Also, we noticed that the Caesar Salads were just brought to the table and not prepared table-side.

 

Anyone know if this is the latest change or specific to that ship? We will be on the Westerdam soon and are wondering what to expect.

We have seen flambe on Eurodam, Noordam, Westerdam, and Maasdam in the last year and a half or so. I think they still do it on all the ships.

I hope that what happened on the Zaandam is only for that ship.

On the Amsterdam in June we had Caesar Salad prepared table side and DH's Baked Alaska was set aflame by the table.

We were on the Zuiderdam last April past year and there definitelywas flambe.

I hope this was a one-time thing and only on the Zaandam!

We were also on the Zaandam in March/April and the Pinnacle was as usual with all the table-side items done that way.

I was on the Noordam in May and it was done table side but on the Zaandam in June they did prepare the dishes in the Pinnacle but not at table side. We could see them across the room preparing them and I thought it was odd that they were doing it that way. Must just be a Zaandam thing.

It could be that the staff on the Zaandam was inexperienced, and the Maitre d' wanted to be sure everything was done correctly. Or the Maitre d' didn't understand that people LIKE a table side show!

We had Steak Diane flambeed at our table in the Pinnacle last week on the Rotterdam. Also had the caesar salad prepared tableside - bot were delicious.
