Premium Bon Voyage Package

No it is not too early. I sail on April 8, 2012 and I called last week. I had sent several emails and received no response, so I called. We qualified for the premium bon voyage package and I am thrilled! :)

we booked in July and I e-mailed OPC as soon as I booked and got my letter within 5 days I printed it out just in case there is a mix up after we board, so that I have proof of the email offer. I am suppose to get a premium pkg and maybe a 75.00 cash back so we will see when we get on board, I received a special promo in early june for 75.00 cash back in casino if I used the special code and mention it when I booked. but I opted for the early saver instead of the casino code offer, and they said I would still get the comp after I booked and I am not going to look forward to it, if its there, I will be a Happy Camper!! if not I have the prem pkg. to look forward to.

So is everyone OPC members? That's the one thing holding me back from calling.......not sure why we never registered but we havent:confused:

you dont have to register, once you use your sail and sign card on board in the casino, then you are automatically a memeber.

I sent an e-mail asking if either myself or DD qualify for anything, got a reply asking for our Past Guest numbers, provided that and then got a reply that we didn't qualify individually but together we qualify for the Premium Bon Voyage Package (Fruit Basket, Bottle of White Wine, a Photo Coupon and 2 Large Bottles of water) asked for our booking number, Ship name and sial date, then got a reply back that we were all set and it would be waiting for us when we board............ sweet! :D

Thanks for all the info. I just sent off an e-mail to see if we qualify for any perks. My husband spends a fair amount of money each cruise. I also play the slots but not a lot of money.

Maybe it will pay off being home sick today with a sinus infection. Day time sure TV S_ucks! I already send off our Stock for the $100.00 on board credit would be nice to get a few extras. We are also Platnum.

Happy Holloween

I loved the Preimum Bon Voyage Package. For my next sailing they told me I was eligible for $50 Casino Cash. I wrote to them and asked if I could have the package instead. They said they would honor that request.

The way look at it.. I'm going to spend the money in the casino anyway. But the fruit basket, with the cheese and crackers was awesome to have in the cabin! I'll bring the bottle of wine to dinner one night. To me the wine and the photo coupon alone is worth more than $50!!

Question though: Last year my mother couldn't find the photo coupon when she wanted to buy a picture. However I found it later in a purse. I read SOMEWHERE on CC that it does not expire. Do you think I can bring it and use it on this cruise? TIA!

1:35 p.m. EDT) -- Carnival Cruise Lines has increased its gratuity guidelines from $10 to $11.50 per person, per day, effective for voyages departing on or after December 1, 2011. Passengers who have already prepaid their gratuities will not be affected by this change.

Senior Cruise Director and blogger John Heald said on his Facebook page that the increase is the line's first since 2001.

In an official statement, Carnival said the new guidelines "place it in line with most other cruise operators." (Celebrity recommends $11.50 per person, per day, NCL $12, Princess $11.50 and RCI $11.65.)

There are dozens of tip threads. Ugh...

I just emailed the OPC, but I leave on Saturday on the Liberty. I play a LOT in the casino so hopefully I qualify. I think I am gonna call tomorrow rather than wait on the email, just in case there is a backlog. This was great info that I wouldnt have known without this board. Thanks to all who brought it up!!!

My family and I are traveling on the Liberty on December 2. Our last cruise was a 12-day on the Spirit to Hawaii last year. We spent a fair amount in the casino, especially since we had many sea days. Based on our play for that cruise I assume, they sent my husband and I coupons earlier this year for 25% off our next cruise booking and $125 in free slot play. The offer was too good to pass up, so we took advantage of that and booked this upcoming Liberty cruise. I also emailed the Ocean Players Club several weeks ago to see if I had any other perks coming (hey, cant hurt to ask!) and it took them almost a month (as well as a repeat email)to finally reply. FInally I did get a response though saying that we qualified for the Premium Bon Voyage Package. I was also not aware on our last cruise, that after you accumulate 1500 players club points on your Sign n Sail card, you qualify for a "Drinks on Us" card for free drinks in the casino. I don't think that this is something that is widely advertising though, but we plan on heading to the casino on the first day and asking the casino host.

When I called to find out whether or not I qualified to receive a gift and mentioned about my multiple unanswered emails, I was told it is better to call as their email system is hit or miss (mostly miss).

As others have said, it's better to call. They can let you know on the spot what you qualify for and as long as you have your booking number handy, they can apply immediately. Also remember, the "sailed within two years" qualification also applies to Carnival's sister lines. Our most recent sailing with them was actually on Holland America, but it qualified me for the Premium package and my DH for the basic. We also got $25 in match play. So we have that waiting for us next week! Yay for the little things in life!

P.S. One other note, my DH actually emailed way back in Oct (which I wasn't aware of) and just got his response yesterday. As an apology for the delay, they added bar credits to his package. Another small yay!
