After 3 cruises using ES my husband and I are psyched to FINALLY see a couple price drops for our upcoming cruise. So far, $220 and counting in OBC  We sail in another month so we are hoping for bigger price drops- *fingers crossed*!

Cheers, to our cheapest cruise yet (excluding the ones we didn't pay for, of course) :D

I'm sure there are others here who have seen MUCH bigger price drops...

We used ES on our last two cruises. $120.00 (60+60) on the 1st and $100.00 (40 +60) on our latest. The price drops seem to happen just after final payment is due and levels off two weeks before the cruise.

BTW: Single digit dance happenin right now.

Early Saver rates are pretty darn good, so I've only had a few price drops on cruises already taken.

Of the two cruises I have booked now, ones is at the VIP Casino rate, which is considerably cheaper than ES. My Magic cruise in April is booked ES, but I price matched to the VIP Casino rate, so I don't expect it to get much cheaper than that. I keep checking...but I'd be surprised to see it get any cheaper.

We booked Early Saver and final payment is due 6th of November. No price drop yet. Sill waiting..... The Valor is almost sold out. Any hope you think of a price drop. TA said our cruise usually sees major price drops in December. I sure hope so.

There are four of us, we started out around $650 pp and ended up paying $389...so $261 per person times four =$1044 OBC.

Holy cow~ Batman!!!!!! that is incredible :)

We booked ES and as of today, no price drops :( If it happens great, if not, we are already very happy with the price we paid.

Victory last year we ended up with $1276 total. Balcony room dropped $648 (for two) and interior room dropped $628 (for two).

This year on the Liberty, the balcony price just keeps going up and up. Glad I booked ES, because that room would now cost me $180 more for the first cruise, and $120 more for the second cruise.

On our first cruise on Miracle our quad balcony dropped over $1400- that was really sweet! Last December on Dream our price dropped $900 on one cabin, and $600 on the other. That was even better! I guess booking so far out (usually 12-18 months) has it's advantages!

You have sort of answered a question I have been thinking about. Other lines have something similar?

Not really. RCL will not give OBC after final payment anymore. You can haggle for an upgrade, but that is it.

We had $1,000 (for 2 ppl) in price drops on our Europe Magic cruise. We also had $200 OBC from a Future Cruise Certificate. We got a check at the end of the cruise for $260.

There are some very high $ OBC's here due to ES..... what happens if you don't spend all of your OBC that you got from an ES credit? Do they cut you a check at the end of the sail date or do you just lose it? Can you by a FCC with your OBC?

Biggest price drop so far was on Celebrity transatlantic. Booked a concierge class balcony for 1549 I think, went down to 1250. They just took the cost off the total bill - no OBC which was fine with me. With my shareholder credit & credit card points I had $350 in OBC as it was.

For the cruise I have booked, it has gone down a total of $50 p.p., so $100 total. And it's early yet! Hoping for more down the road.

Yes, they will cut you a check for unused OBC....

In order to buy a FCC, they bill your credit card, rather than your sign and sail.

The only OBC that is non refundable ( according to Carnival) is the 'promotional' OBC..such as the 'extra' you get when you use an FCC.
