Johnnyczdc Posted November 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2011 November 14-19, 2011 Celebrity Millennium Sailing This was our first experience onboard Celebrity and we were somewhat apprehensive about sailing on the Millennium due to some of the recent negative reviews. From the time we entered the Celebrity port facilities until the time we disembarked we were treated like royalty. We are still wondering where the negative comments come from? The entire staff that we came in contact with was very polite and couldn’t do enough for us. Embarkation: We arrived at the Premium Parking facility at 12:30 p.m. and were at the port facilities at 1:15 p.m., the driver told us that the ship was still being disembarked due to a TSA/INS inspection that had backed up the process by 2 hours. We handed our bags to a porter and went into the building, found the Concierge section handed over our passports, our boarding pass and were onboard at 1:20 p.m. with a glass of sparkling wine and a mimosa in our hands. Ship Conditions: The Millennium was in fine shape. The staff was constantly cleaning and ensuring things were where they were supposed to be. We just wish we could see her after the “Solsticizing”. All public areas were clean and in order during all different times of day and night. Our stateroom (Concierge class Veranda, C2) accommodations were comfortable and clean. The room attendant (Sylivia) was attentive and friendly. Pools were nice and never seemed overcrowded; the pool butlers did a good job of watching out for chair hogs. Food: We dined in the Metropolitan Dining Room (MDR) for 3 of the 5 nights and we were very impressed with the food quality and the service level in the dining room. We had Select Dining and ate 3 different times and had 3 different waiters and each of them was outstanding. Bar service: We bought the Premium Drink Package and visited all of the bars at different times of day and night and received very good service and liberal pours of drinks. Entertainment: We went to three different shows and found them to be fairly decent. Disembarkation: We choose to do the Express Checkout and were down in the Rendezvous Lounge at 7am and were standing outside waiting for our shuttle to the parking garage at 7:20 a.m. Overall we had a great trip and we will sail Celebrity again and recommend the line to our family and friends. Johnnyczdc Posted November 20, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted November 20, 2011 Linda, My understanding is that the Millie will be re-positioned to the Pacific after her makeover. Probably just choose to sail the Connie, next. John
