As we were just on the cruise, and can say No Desert buffetm or chocolate, or midnight buffet, cost cut due to Sarah eating all the goodies.

Sad we did not see that, truely sad it was.

We did see on the list the Ice sculpting, but no desert thingy.:(

Hi, Celebrity has not offered a midnight buffet in quite a few years now.

They replaced it with a brunch. As for the dessert buffet? Some sailings

do offer what is called a "Chocolate Buffet" but I am not sure this is

presented on every itinerary.

I opted not to attend the Galley Tour held that morning as I had been on the tour on Summit and didn’t think it would be that much different (it was free of charge). We returned to our cabin to find an invitation to the Hands-on Cooking Class and Lunch with Chef Dena Marino in Murano at 12:30 p.m. (I had signed up for lunch in Murano on Saturday, not knowing about this program at the time, but was fortunate to be one of the first on the list for this very popular event!). It was definitely a unique experience and one of the highlights of our cruise.

Sandi, can you explain about 'signing up' for lunch in Murano? Did that get you the invitation? Was there an additional cost for this?

Hi Lisa:) I think Sandi's cruise was part of Celebrity's "Savor Your

Destination" in this case it was a Culinary savoring;). I don't think

it is offered every cruise.

But I can tell you when I sailed Eclipse last month lunch was

offered in Tuscan for 20.00 per person. (that was open to anyone).

It was delicious and in my opinion well worth the money:)

Sandi,

Thank you SO much for taking the time to post your very detailed review! We will be on the 1/7 Eclipse. We've been on many Celebrity cruises, but this will be our first on a Solstace Class and are really looking forward to it! I took many notes! :):)

Hi neighbor ( love your library btw),

Thanks, it was fun to share...now I just have to put away all the "cruise clothes"....a depressing thought. Enjoy your cruise. Do try Qsine, it really is fun and unusual, so gad they're adding it to the Solsticized ships, the best of both worlds.

We were on deck 10, ~ md ship. A few doors down from us had a guard at the door all hours. When we docked in San Juan, the police arrived as we were getting off ship. When we returned to our room, the guard was gone. Did anyone hear what the issue may have been. We asked the guard due to concerns about illness, buthe would not tell us anything.

We rarely get accurate follow-ups about such things - but I'm with you, I'd be curious as well!

Just wanted to add my thoughts on the beverage packages, as this is a much discussed topic on the Board.

We both prepurchased the premium beverage package and were very pleased that we did for these reasons:

Service was excellent. It was very convenient simply to hand the waiter your card. We usually tipped a buck per drink.

Choice - we were able to sample many different types of drinks that we wouldn't have paying a la carte.

Drinks with dinner - unquestionably, there is a much larger wine selection by the bottle, but we were satisfied with the wines by the glass. (the carafes of wine available at the Oceanview Cafe bar are included btw). We wouldn't have ordered any expensive bottles of wine anyway, and we could choose what we each liked, based on our food choices.

I know many people worry if they get their money's worth, but I felt we did. DH definitely drank more than I did (but that's to be expected!) so we probably "broke even" dollar-wise.

We did, however, spend very little time and money in the casino on this cruise as the drinks and entertainment and various bars kept us occupied.

We definitely plan to get the packages again and think it's a great plus that Celebrity offers this.

I'll be happy to answer any questions I can based on our "research."

For us, it will likely come down to how much time I DON'T spend in the casino. Sometimes we are in there for an hour or two in the evenings (AKA: Prime drinking hours - not that my goal is to get blasted or anything!). When we are in there, typically they have provided me with complimentary drinks. Usually with dinner, we'll enjoy a nice bottle of wine or Champagne - and most of what we usually like is listed in their bottles section, rather than the "by the glass" list.

So... still... decisions, decisions!

We canceled this cruise in November due to health issue.

We were right down the hall as well. Our steward said it was a domestic situation. Apparently one hell of an argument.

Must have been pretty bad to get thrown off. Keeping them locked up together probably did wonders for the relationship.
