I have one passenger in our group (not ES) that has just told us she cannot go. We are only 6 days out. Is she just out of luck unless she has insurance? Can someone be substituted in her place. I know I can call Carnival but I know you folks out there know.

What is the cruise cancellation policy?

Cruise Cancellation Policy:

45 to 30 days 50% of Total Fare

29 to 15 days 75% of Total Fare

and 14 day Panama Canal Cruise 55 to 30 days 50% of Total Fare

29 to 15 days 75% of Total Fare

14 days or less 100% of Total Fare

Note: Should cancellation charges apply, guests who purchased Carnival’s Cruise Vacation Protection -- including the new Cancel for Any Reason feature -- may be eligible for a refund of, or credits towards, the otherwise non-refundable value of their prepaid cruise vacation. Refer to the plan description for specific terms, conditions and exclusions.

Total Fare is defined as Cruise Fare, Air Fare Supplement, Transfer Services and Pre-/Post-Cruise Vacation Packages.

*The deposit is non-refundable.

^For Cruises-To-Nowhere, the cancellation charge is 25% of the total fare.

Government fees/taxes are excluded from cancellation penalties.

For special 3/4/5th guest rates, if the cancellation penalty exceeds the rate, the penalty will be equivalent to that rate. Reservations will be held until 30 minutes prior to departure without risk of automatic cancellation.

No refunds will be made in the event of "no shows". We recommend the purchase of trip cancellation insurance.

from carnival faq

it may be easier to do a No show instead of calling to carnival..If you tell carnival, they may change your rate depending on the cabin you booked

Thanks for all the help. Just talked to Carnival and if we call in the name change there is a 50. fee but if I do it online at goccl there will be no fee. Thanks again folks

I'm pretty sure that you will not be able to access the goccl website, unless you are a TA. I'm guessing that since you had to ask the question, you are not a TA. If you booked through a TA, call them and ask them to make the name change. They should be able to do it for free.
