What is one thing you like least about a cruise?

Recommended Posts

You can, you just have to pay for it. Why do you think they make the free coffee so bad? So you will pay for good coffee.

Actually at the coffee shop you can't buy a regular cup of joe-Americana only-in other words a watered down shot of expresso.:( I agree the coffee leaves a lot to be desired, but I add some cocoa and a little cream, and some sugar, and stir well, and it's not that bad.....and then I take up drinking tea.:)

I hate the insanity of the humanity when you first embark on to the ship. At no other time in a cruise do they ask every person to be in the same area at the same time all doing the same thing. There might be a crew joke about trying to feed 2K people burgers and hotdogs between noon and three, but it really wears on me, I cant' figure out why they can't serve in the MDR too.

I wish there was a way (outside of when booking/booking with a giant group) to get alcohol included. Like different level packages for those who want domestic beers, the bottom tiered wine and champagnes, and "house" liquors vs. those who want imports and better wine and top shelf would work, I think. I understand WHY they don't do it but darn, it would be nice!

It is something most like and I have learned to avoid it all together...

The over-crowded Lido deck on the first few hours of embarkation and departure. Bartenders are at their pushiest, 1/2 are there to whoop it up, 1/2 are there to feed, but it seems everyone in the world is crammed onto the same deck. I don't make it to the Lido deck until evening to grab dinner these days, unless we decide to do the MDR.

I work in the tourism field. I talk to folks all day who are on vacation. On my vacation I become very withdrawn and crave more quiet times, a book, a drink and to visit some cool places is on my agenda.

I hate the packing to get off. It's like stepping back through the Looking Glass.

I don't sleep well the last night.....I keep looking behind the curtains to see if we're

still running along the coast or if we're coming into port. The longest cruise I've been

on was 14 days, and I still felt like I needed a couple more days. I'm never ever ready

to get off my ship, no matter what ship on what line.

This...exactly THIS! We took a 10 day in December of 2011 and I was still just bummed to be getting off the ship! I think that at some point, our family is going to just bite the bullet and do a 30 day cruise to see if we EVER get sick of cruising. Maybe debarkation won't be such a bummer then?!

the flight home:(

I second that! I just got back from a cruise and about all I can remember is the trip home. It'll take me a while to ditch the memories of the trip home and get back to the good vacation memories. A red-eye flight, DH coughing his fool head off the whole way home, and becoming sick myself upon return hasn't helped. So everyone asks "How was vacation?" and my answer is "What vacation?"

:(

The fact that the ship is not in port all day. Some port days are longer than others. They should all be the same amount of time and it should be a full day. I sometimes would like to have the opportunity to do two excursions if possible. Maximize my time there and see or do as much as possible.

It sounds like debarkation is disliked by most. Maybe Carnival can add an extra fee to leave the ship. If you don't pay the fee, you must stay. Shoot, I would wash and dry my own sheets and clean my own bathroom if they demanded.

Smokers who smoke in the balcony, loungers, and open decks which ruins the fun.

Ditto! Hence why we are getting a 'scenic ocean-view' instead of a balcony. Until they make the balconies "smoke free" we will continue to do so. Also having the casino right in the middle of the ship forcing people to walk past into a cloud of smoke. Gag-gross! :(

Other than that, and debarkation day, and rough sea days.....it's definitely "HEaven on Earth!" :D
