Cruise Junky Posted May 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2012 I'll be coming in on Lufthansa from Frankfurt and need to transfer to either an Air France Flight or a partner of theirs to Rome. Is 3 hours ok? We've never transferred through CDG. I realize we'll have to pick up our bags and recheck in. Thanks
CruiserBruce Posted May 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2012 3 hours will be fine.
alidor Posted May 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2012 You will not have to pick up your bags and recheck them. They will be checked through to your final destination. What makes you think you have to do that?

Rare FlyerTalker Posted May 9, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Your connection will be from Terminal 1 to the Terminal 2 complex. This will eat up time. Do not dawdle in your process. I really can't figure out why you are doing this.

I really can't figure out why you are doing this. Sudden change in travel plans. We booked tickets to Paris 9 months ago on points. Just found a super discounted cruise out of Rome so we've abandoned the first two weeks of our land trip for a cruise. I agree though, not ideal. We arrive in Paris at 2:50 and there is a 5:45 flight to Rome. Next one isn't until 8:15 and I really don't want to hang out at the airport that long after a transatlantic flight. alidor Posted May 9, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2012 even though they are two separate tickets, if you show the connecting ticket to the check-in agent, they probably will check the luggage through for you.

Probably, but it's no guarantee. Nevertheless, three hours should be fine...but yes, don't slack off.
