I've been waiting for you to post your trip Minette! :)

We're booked for June 20th through July 1st SB on the Summit. I'm so excited to go to ISP. We got everything we wanted and the price was absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!!!

Alaska, here we come!

Robin

Odd...didn't know Celebrity Summit had a SB starting 20th of June. Let me put it this way, I hope not since the Mrs. and I booked NB 17-24 June on Summit. Our 2nd cruise (1st one was on Carnival for honeymoon) for our 15th anniversary.

My husband and I are booked on the Island Princess Southbound 06-05-06. We have a balcony cabin on the Caribe deck port side!!! This is in celebration of our 25th anniversary and we have been planning to do this for a few years now!! This is our first Alaska cruise and we are both very excited. Lots of time to wait, but I will pass the time "cruising" the boards and planning for the trip. Right not we are planning to arrive in Anchorage 3-4 days before we leave. Not sure if we will head north to Denali or south to Kenai penninsula. Fortunately for me, I like the planning almost as much as the trip - lol.

has any one book on "Vision of the Seas" RCCL for 7/28/2006?

My husband and I are seriously considering taking our 16 year old grandson next summer. Probably on Princcess and then some time at Denali and Fairbanks. Last time we were there was 1990, so we're long overdue.

Booked family for northbound Alaska, June 12, 2006. Son, daughter-in-law, grandson (15) and grandson (11+). Island Princess. Can't wait. We are taking train to Denali end of cruise for 2 nights, then to Fairbanks for one night before flying back to Houston. Hope you all join us.

We're booked on RCI Vision of the Sea's RT out of Seattle. Originally we had booked with NCL but, RCI came out with a Seattle based cruise, I liked the itenerary a little better and we get some decent discounts for being Platinum members with their loyalty program.

To be honest, I'm more excited about sailing from Seattle than I am about sailing on Vision. Vision class ships with RCI are nice ships but I really prefer the Radiance class ships. We've sailed twice out of Vancouver and have sailed the itenerary's the both Radiance class ships are doing so, it wasn't really much of an attraction. Plus, we got a great price on a Junior Suite on Vision. That will allow us to spend one night pre-cruise and two nights post cruise in Seattle.

This is our third time sailing Alaska and we're looking forward to going back.

I just booked an Alaska cruise today for May 6. Going on Celebrity Mercury. We've been talking about it for some time and finally decided to just go for it!

the date is actually May 8. See what getting excited can do for you? You tend to try to move the date up LOL. :D

We just booked the Island Princess - Northbound - for June 12, 2006!!! We were able to get three balcony rooms on Caribe deck. Birthday surprise for my wife's 60th. We will be doing the cruisetour to Denali. Taking our two daugthters and their husbands on the cruise only portion. Any and all tips on excursions in Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway would be appreciated.

So glad to find someone who is on our cruise. There are 5 of us: me (Pat), son, daughter-in-law, grandson (15), and grandson (11+).

There are no responses to the roll call I started, look for it, and maybe others will join in.

Thanks, Pat

:D Well I think I finally have the excursions planned for our June 5 Island Princess trip. Spent the last 2 weeks doing some research while on vacation. So all you experienced cruisers tell me what you think. In Skagway we will do the TEMSCO Helicopter Dog Sled tour. The Captain Larry Whale Watching trip in Juneau and I think a fishing excursion in Ketchikan from the ship unless someone can recommend a good one. There are 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 teens 15 and 18.

Hey Doug,

When do you sail? We are booked on the May 26th trip. You also said you had made the trip 3 times - what excursions would you recommend? Thanks

My family (my husband, two teen-age daughters and I) are booked RT Seattle on NCL Star August 27. I fear our inside cabin is in the absolute bowels of the ship (deck 5), but we'll be fine, seeing as how we have nothing to compare this to (first cruise ever)! The price was right! We're used to camping in a 10x10 tent or a smallish RV anyway, so the 139 sqft stateroom will be positively spacious! :-)

We just booked this weekend, and will be on the Aug.17th cruise on Royal Carribean's Vision of the Sea. Me & hubby (45), DD 19, DS, 20, My Mom (70) and Dad (71). We are all so excited. I've never been to Alaska, and don't know much about it, or exactly what to expect. I read so much, but there are so many opionons out there, we will just have to experience it for ourselves:D!

Are you aware that RCI changed the itinerary, and you will not be visiting Tracy Arm any longer?

It doesn't matter. We have never been to Alaska, so any cruise will be wonderful. My daughter works at a summer camp all summer, and that is her only week vacation before she goes back to college. We really went for price, hence, the round-trip Seattle. Also, RCI allows 18 year olds in the casino, and my two are 19 & 20. Not that they are big gamblers, but it will provide some fun. Outdoor pool didn't matter, we don't even go in the pools when we sail the carribean, lol. We are looking forward to seeing some of Alaska. This is also my parents only chance to go, and they are also on a tight budget.

Do you know what they are doing instead of TracyArm (whatever that is! - lol)

Tracy Arm is a glacier...and the only one on your original itinerary. You will now have a few extra hours in Juneau.

You might want to do some reading before your cruise. :) I just ordered Alaska By Cruise Ship by Anne Vipond. Others here recommended it, and I looked at it at a bookstore before ordering it from Amazon. I really like Frommer's Alaska by Charles Wohlfort. The 2006 edition of that just came out in December.
