searanch queen Posted July 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Does the Noordam have cabanas on ship for rental? Not HMC but ON the ship! Some ships have them pool side and others have them in the spa area.
catl331 Posted July 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2012 No, only the Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam have cabanas on board.
jtl513 Posted July 26, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2012 No, only the Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam have cabanas on board. I sincerely hope it stays that way ... or better yet, they're removed from the E'dam and N.A. ;)

catl331 Posted July 26, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I totally agree, John! ;) The ones on deck 11 (Retreat/Cabana Club) don't bother me. It's the Lido pool-side ones that I would like to see removed, and the space used for tables and chairs like on the Vistas. ;)

I tend to agree...the others are "out of the way".

CruiserBruce Posted July 26, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Come on people. OP asked a legitimate question. Didn't think it had anything to do with whether or not ships should have cabanas. Some people like the cabanas too, you know, and I haven't seen any sign they aren't selling.

Not selling? - the ones on the Lido were empty on the NA when we were on and just took up room - who the heck would want to be there with people all around? Now the retreat is whole different deal. I think those are a nice area and they book up well.

jtl513 Posted July 26, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Come on people. OP asked a legitimate question. And the question was fully answered 4 minutes after it was asked. After that, thread drift is fair game. :D
igraf Posted July 27, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 27, 2012 Just because they sell doesn't make it right. I will not sail on any ship that has Lido pool cabanas as my wife and I often sit at the tables by the windows (and I want to choose which side to sit). igraf Come on people. Rare mightycruisequeen Posted July 27, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 27, 2012 Actually, the cabanas on Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam are enough to keep mightycruiseking & me from booking those ships.
Typhoon1 Posted July 27, 2012 #15 Share Posted July 27, 2012 They were all sold- Lido and Retreat - when we were on the NA. I have to agree Bruce. No sign they are losing money. While some consider them an eyesore, they always seem to be full.
jtl513 Posted July 28, 2012 #16 Share Posted July 28, 2012 While some consider them an eyesore, they always seem to be full. Even if the Lido cabanas are filled, about 10-20 people get to use space that could have tables and chairs for the benefit of the other 2,086-2,096 passengers on board. On Vistas those tables get used a lot, particularly at lunchtime. :(
