I dont think they will say a word, if you are expecting some kind of fanfare, no platinum pin, nothing like that.

 

Your boarding document will have VIP or VIPF I guess it is now up in the corner. thats it.

 

You will have a white envelope addressed to you on the desk in your cabin with a single sheet of paper that will tell you the platinum perks and list them.. so you dont have to know them ahead of time. The letter is always waiting on the desk in my cabin when I arrive.

Your Fun Pass and Luggage tags will say VIP on them....

Congratulations on making Platinum. The last time I sailed, I was under the old program. But you do get a Carnival Logo item, I received the slingbag. I used it when I walked around the ports.

The favorite part of Platinum for me is not having to stand in a long line to get checked in. My legs really hurt after awhile while I did that.

ask for your VIP placard when u get inside..from one of the "port" ladies or Gents..u will be directed to the VIP area and given a ZONE #...the sit and wait to be called......arrive early..10:30 on..there is a separate SCAN booth for VIP

It depends on the port and the ship. I've had a nice VIP lounge at the port with cookies and lemonade, and I've had a separate room with plain old chairs.

Onboard, the laundry is limited now. They aren't consistant from one ship to another. If you have a tender port, you can go to guest services and they will escort you down to the front of the line.

You get a logo item, they are usually pretty nice.

Those pastic binoculars are supposed to be the new logo item that you will get sometime during the week, probably when you get your invite to the past guest VIPF party.

We love laundry also, but biggest disappointment is in casino tournament entries. Changing from 1 free per Platinum, now BOGO:(

It has been grandfathered through December 31, 2013.

 

We are taking #9 in October and are already looking at #10 for October 2013. VIP, here we come!!!
