Using Seapass card in the casino

Recommended Posts

Is there an additional charge added if you use your seapass card (being paid via credit card) to play the slot machines in the casino?

You need to use cash in the slot machines in the casino. If you need cash you will need to go to the cashier and present your sea pass card, and request the amount you wish to get. For this type of transaction there is a 3% charge. Putting your seapass card in the machines is only to accrue points that can be redeemed for various prizes (key chains, t shirts, polo shirts etc.)

I never knew that you could put your seapass card in to obtain points for prizes. I guess this is similar to the cards you get at Vegas hotels for casino play.

Do I need to "sign up" first before I can start using the seapass card to accrue points? Or do I just put the card in and start playing?

How do I know what point levels get what kinds of prizes?

Thanks!

No need to pre-register. Just put your card in and it will begin to add points. I believe that most of the machines have a message line which will show you how many points you have and which will also indicate the various prizes according to the number of points required. There will also be a more complete list posted at the cashier's window. During certain morning hours when the casino is open (sea days) you may accrue double points. Again that information will be posted in the casino. Most of the prizes are either logo items or coupons good for a $5 or a $10 drink or something similar, not much to get excited about, but it adds a bit to the casino experience (especially if you don't hit a jackpot).:D

The cashier has a list of gifts you can get with your casino points. They also have "raffles", if you're playing slots with your card and they pick your machine, you win a prize package. I won a t-shirt, baseball cap and key chain.

  • 4 weeks later...

Is cash the only form of funding you can use in the casino? How do the slot machine systems compare to those you would find in Las Vegas? If I put a $20 bill in, will it then print me out my end funds that I need to take to the cashier to cash out? Thanks! Just super curious how the whole at sea casino experience works :)

On freedom last month it was the same kind of cash receipt that you get from Vegas that you take to the cashier to get your winnings. I put in $20 hit over $50 on the second pull so I cashed out for then and came back later in the day. Usually I am not a very lucky person with slots so I take what I can. I was on the wheel of fortune machine. That is the one I have the best luck on.

Mostly, now, I just save up all my points and get cash back for them at the end of the cruise. You need to "cash out" your points at the cashier's window by circa 11pm on the last night of the cruise. I think that 2,500 points will get you a meal for two in Chops--but the actual cash value is greater.

For the record, I have 7 Casino Royale polo shirts, 4 Casino Royale t-shirts, 2 Casino Royale baseball caps, 1 Royal Poker Tour baseball cap (which my husband gave me) and approximately 8,000 Casino Royale key chains. :D

If you play a lot (2 or 3 hours a day, I think) the casino manager will approach you and ask if you would like to join Club Royale. About 6 weeks after the cruise Club Royale sends a letter offering a discount on your next cruise which is redeemable up to one year. They are pretty decent discounts, too. If it's more than the cost of the cruise, the balance can be taken as cash in the casino on the next cruise. And, the 3% credit card fee is waived. They will also give you comped drinks while you are in the casino.

I'm bummed, I remember getting a lot of points from slot play last February...but I had no clue what they were for, and I guess I forgot to go ask. I could have had a polo, or a keychain maybe. LOL. I'll remember this time.

And it would be great to be offered the membership. I like the sound of those discounts!
