Do the room stewards load the toilet paper "over" or "under"?

Recommended Posts

Exactly. You see this when the ship passes the Equator -- the stewards go from cabin to cabin to reverse the rolls.

...I've seen that!...I've seen that!!!.......and then they throw the switch so the swirls in the tub and toilets run counter clockwise as they drain....some people have the coolest jobs......

...and another posted: Northern Hem: Over... Souther Hem: Under...

But what if you're sailing East on the Equator???

You have to take the roll off the holder and stand it on its side, if you heading east you must take it off the roll to the right and if your traveling west take off the left. How can people not know this stuff? :)

I don't recall my toilet roll being triangulated during my cruise.

Does this mean i can sue and claim my gratuities back?

I mean, my whole holiday was ruined because of this lack of professionalism!

...you should at least get a $10,000.00 On Board Credit........or whatever that amount exchanges into pounds.........God Save The Queen.....

LOL! Just got off Liberty. The toilet paper is folded neatly "Over'. But, yes, I do get your point, and agree that some things seem trivial, but no telling what or why some matters are important to some folks. They must have their reasons.

Don't forget the pointed triangle at the end ...LOL

Every detail counts right?

Since they don't carry my preferred brand of extra soft 2-ply, I plan to bring a large pack on board with me. It can be used to disguise my rum-runners. I will of course need for the shuttle to stop at a grocery store on the way to pier to let me go in and purchase said paper. At the end of my cruise should any be left, I will leave this as a tip for the cabin steward. In bringing my own paper on board he isn't having to do nearly so much work taking care of me so what's left in a 12-pack should be sufficient for a week of making my bed and cleaning my bathroom. After all, I'm not very messy and I'm always nice.

The luggage porters are very nice -- just slap a luggage tag on it and check it in and they'll deliver it to your room with the rest of your luggage.

I won't cruise with RCL again until they get with the times and load the toilet paper as "over" in ALL bathrooms aboard ship. I went to use the Men's room near the casino on Monarch several months ago and the roll was loaded "under". It made the casino completely unusable for me, making the extra money I spent gambling a complete waste. When I complained to Guest Services, they acted as if they didn't care. Apparently, loading the toilet paper "under" is prohibited in many bathrooms aboard the ship, however, unfortunately, it's allowed in the casino bathrooms.

I mentioned this unacceptable practice on my comment card too. But, months later, I have yet to receive anything for free from the company.

From what I understand, Celebrity and Princess both have a ship-wide policy of "over" for all bathroom toiler paper holders, including the casinos. I guess I'll be sailing them from now on.

These are fun.:D

Why do you always have to blame RCI ? Did it ever occur to you that passengers with OCD playing in the casino who might have rehung the TP? Besides, Ive been on Princess and all of their TP is "under".
