Transport from your cruise ship and to the address depends on day of the week and which cruise terminal your ship is docked at.

When you post these informations I will be in a better position to help you.

We arrive on the Legend of the Seas Friday May 2,2014 and fly out on Tuesday May 6

You have a few options.

You can either take bus 26 from the cruise pier to Christiansborg, from here you get bus 2A towards Kastrup and get of at Amager Hospital.

Or take bus 26 and get off at Kongens Nytorv from here you take metro line M2 towards Lufthavnen and get off at Amager Strand metro station.

So much wonderful info on here.

We are taking the Legend of the Seas in May. We will be in Copenhagen May9,10 and in between cruises on May 17 and again May 24 departing at noon on May 25th.

I would like to find something outside the city to do on one of those days. Maybe on the in between cruise ( May 17th 8am -5pm) would be a good day. Any suggestions?

Also we are going to be in Copenhagen May 9th for our anniversary any suggestions for a nice dinner option? We are planning on going to Tivoli on Sat. May 24th evening.

Thanks so much, Karen

Lets take this day by day :-)

May 9th: Dinner at one of the 2 stared Michelin restaurants

Geranium is awarded the 48 best restaurant in the world and chef Rasmus kofoed has been awarded rest chef in the world (Bucose D´Or).

http://geranium.dk/

Noma or Nordisk Mad (nordic food) has been awarded best restaurant in the world 3 years in a row but its curently number 2.

http://noma.dk/

Both restaurants should be booked months in advance, so maybe its better to choose now.

The other eleven restaurants are here (all with 1 star)

http://www.visitcopenhagen.com/copenhagen/gastronomy/michelin-starred-restaurants

I´m usually suggesting a trip to both Frederiksborg Palace and Kronborg (hamlet) Castle but with the limited time there will only be time for one (I think)

Take S-train line A to Hillerød, the trip takes 45 minutes or so.

Please notice that its only in the weekend that line A goes all the way to Hillerød, on a regular workday Line E that skips alot of stops will be going all the way to Hillerød.

It only takes 20 minutes to walk to the palace.

If you have the time then take a trip on the small boat that sails in the castle lakes.

Wow. I've just finished reading the entire 1262 posts in one sitting (along with many of the associated links), as part of my planning for a June 2014 cruise out of Copenhagen.

Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful information contributed, especially to Danish Viking who has contributed a ridiculous volume of information for one person.

(Danish Viking - forgive me if you find this comment too confrontational, however I'm troubled by the amount of time you must put into researching & responding to all these questions, and I feel compelled to say something. Whilst you started this invaluable thread, I recommend letting some of your countrymen / neighbours respond to more of these questions, so that you have more time available to devote towards other aspects of your life away from the computer. Life is too short.)

Funny enough I'm finding it more exiting when there is more activity in "my" thread.

All 1200 pages has been created during 1 year, that's somewere around 4 posts a day with me making around 1 or 2 of them.

Usually I collect a few days questions (if there are any) and handle them in one take and that is probably 20-30 minutes every second or third day.

Most questions I know the answer of so it reduces my "working" time.

But sometimes I need to investigate it further in order to give a good answer and I actually find it funny to dig up answers.

I have also had questions about if I worked for the Visit Copenhagen tourist office but in that case I need a serious pay check.

Thank you so much for the info. Not sure if my budget will allow for such splendid restaurants as this is a 2 week back to back cruise for us. Would you be able to suggest something nice but not as fancy or as expensive? We might end up at Tivoli on our anniversary night just because it may work out that is the best night for us to go. Is there any place there that you recommend?

Thanks for the help, Karen

Danish viking & others:

Thank you for your earlier advice on taxis from the airport.

We have now booked the Imperial Hotel in August 2014. Can you advise how we would get from the airport to this hotel by public transit and how far we would have to walk with our luggage from station (train?/metro?) to this hotel. I'm sorry if this has been asked by someone before.

Thanks!

nisky

Happy New years to all of You even though there are a little bit less than 8 hours left of the new year here in Denmark :D

Imperial is located next to Vesterport S-train station.

The most easy way is to take the airport train to København H (Central Station) and then either take any nortbound S-trains from track 9-10 to the next station Vesterport or walk from the central station.

As long as you don't have anything to do with drugs you should be okay.

Its only in rare cases that people unrelated to Hells Angels, Bandidos or one the gangs (mainly Loyal To Familia, VHK, Bloods or Black cobra) has been a victim of any crime.

As I understand it then it has something to do with controling the marijuana and narcotic market.

Indre By (downtown) is mainly for tourists, office workers and people going out shopping, dining or going out for a drink so its not a place where you will see gangs.

But its nowhere as bad as in Compton, Harlem, Bronx and whatever the ghettos are called.
