Just did Marriott day pass -

thought i'd clarify some questions that have been posted about the Marriott Day pass in St Kitts.

A group of us (18) took a van taxi (from the port) cost was $3.00 per person each way (very reasonable) plus tip at your discretion.

Ride was 15 min max..

The day pass was $35.00 per person. This gives you use of the beach and pool. You get chairs with umbrella's and towels. You get 10% food discount- (not alcohol). There is a great swim up bar in the main pool. Anita was our server and we kept her busy.

There is no tax on the $35 day pass... If you got a day room for $125 that would be taxed.

No advance reservations were needed. We pre-arranged for our driver to come back for us- but if you don't , they can call a taxi for you- only takes a few minutes.

We had a great day there- played pool volleyball - we could use our floats in the pool and it was a very fun day.

The resort is beautiful. The beach is very large with lots of shaded huts for use. We did not go swimming in the beach as the water was a bit rough the day we were there. There are breakers to ease the waves into the beach area.

Nice restaurant area - (or sit at the pool bar) burgers, hot dogs, etc- reasonably priced.

They told us they do not take cash at the bar area- so bring a credit card.

hope that helps anyone that is thinking of going- We will definitely do it again!

I think that we were there when you guys were, sitting fairly close to your group.

The day pass was great and we really enjoyed the time at the Marriott. We were surprised at the "no cash" rule, and were not prepared for this. It may be a Marriott wide thing as at our pre trip hotel (Marriott Stellaris San Juan), they didn't take it either. In St. Kitt's though, the allowed us to pay cash at the front desk, for our food and drinks.

I was stung by some sort of a Caribbean insect while there, and the staff were great, helping to take the stinger out and to treat the area. The guy who treated it came by a few times to check the area and was quick to point out that if it were to get much more swollen than it was, he would take me to the doctor at the resort or take me to the hospital in town.

Overall, great time at the resort, minus the whole sting thing. (For the record, I have been stung many a time before by wasps at home. Whatever stung me at the resort induced pain at least 10 times more than anything I have felt before from an insect sting....caused much more swelling, and hurt for the rest of the day.)

Glad to hear you are OK. Seems like the insects like you.

ALso, thanks to the OP for this information.

The day pass was $35 per person - includes use of all facilities- pool / beach/ with chairs/towels/umbrella's/huts.

Includes 10% discount on food - not on drinks..

The day room was for up to 4 people - none of us got the room - wouldn't be there long enough to justify it.

No monkeys on property --

http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/skbrb-st-kitts-marriott-resort-and-the-royal-beach-casino/ -- is the website for the Marriott we went to.. I don't believe there are two.

Thank you for the clear up. We were looking at booking a room for the day. I have family who work for the marriott group so I get a different rate. It would cost me $84 for a basic room there. I believe it was $94 for the room on the beach. So it's a little more then buying two day passes. But we were planning to do the sky safari zip line tour. Which will take up most of the morning.

The two hotels are on the same property. The Beach Club part is a timeshare and it's all villas with kitchens and stuff. The other is a regular hotel with regular hotel rooms.

Ill be there in a couple days. I got the villa for the day.

Thanks for this detailed info. We are considering doing the beach day pass with friends on our Emerald Princess cruise in Nov.

-->Are there changing rooms or restrooms we can change our clothes in? Showers available included in the cost...possibly in the gym/work-out area or just out open near the pool?

-->Can you give us an idea how much food/cocktails were: Burger, Margarita cost...if you remember?

:confused:Did the beach area have umbrellas/thatched palapa over the loungers? You mentioned "shaded huts" on the beach....are they included in the day pass price or extra? I see they have umbrellas over the loungers near the pool, but wondered what type of shade was on the beach.
