Watches?

I recently read a post here about buying wedding/diamond rings. I would like to purchase an Ernst Benz watch at one of our ports, but I don't want to get 'taken'. Can anyone recommend a reputable shop with good prices?

First I would check with your on board cuise ship activities director. We were on the Oasis and they pointed us to shops such as Diamonds International with cards and the name of the shops managers stating they would give you the best price. But keep in mind they will only discount a certain percentage. Your cruise's activities director should be able to tell you the percentage for each brand. Hope that helps.

I'd go to Goldfinger on Front Street.

 

I'd also disregard any advice from a ships' shopping consulant. They do not work for the cruiseline. They are independent contractors that receive compensation by the very shops they push so heavily. Their advice may or may not be in your best interest.........but you can sure bet it is in theirs!!

Unfortunately, if you're set on a Ernst Benz, DI may be your only option on St. Maarten.

For what it is worth we have always found Little Switzerland to be the best amongst the islands.

Google Benz watches and see if there are discounts from online vendors.

I would try to figure out what watch you want and what the price is so you can ensure you are really getting a good price.
