Rare ladylemondrop Posted April 18, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2013 We usually cruise with celebrity, but I love the look of the new Breakaway ship, so we are considering it for our holiday next year, in august with our two boys who will be 15 and 11. Questions - which cabin will be best space for value option for us? We like a seperate bedroom if possible. Bermuda - its a 7 night cruise, shorter than I would like, do the itineraries change week to week so a B2B option is available? We might do a few nights in NYC to start with if not, to make it a longer holiday. Do they allow a lot of smoking on NCL? I think thats it for now! Hoping we might see the rockettes on board! :D
Sauer-kraut Posted April 18, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2013 She will just be doing the Bermuda/NYC run over and over so you can make an add on for NYC to extend your vacation. I can't help with the room selection, either a balcony with an inside across the hall for your sons, or a 2 bedroom suite. You might want to check out which will be cheaper in the long run. Bermuda is a great way to see Bermuda, as you are 'parked' there and have no worries to get back to the ship until the last day ;) There is a great board under PORTS OF CALL for Bermuda with tips and hints and what to see while you are there. Have a great time.
fridaythe13th Posted April 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2013 In September 2013 and April 2014 The Breakaway is doing a 14 day which includes Bermuda, Florida and the Bahamas. http://www.ncl.com/vacations?Ntt=I+want+to...&loc=undefined&date_from=&date_end=&dur=N%3D4294963187%2B8054%26Ne%3D12%26Nr%3DAND%2528p_Record_Type%253AI%252Cp_Fare_Code%253ABF%2529%26Nu%3Dp_Key%26q%3Dquery&from=N%3D4294963187%26Ne%3D8050%26Nr%3DAND%2528p_Record_Type%253AI%252Cp_Fare_Code%253ABF%2529%26Nu%3Dp_Key&ship=N%3D4294963187%2B8054%2B4294963125%26Ne%3D11%26Nr%3DAND%2528p_Record_Type%253AI%252Cp_Fare_Code%253ABF%2529%26Nu%3Dp_Key%26q%3Dquery&qs=N%3D4294963187%2B8054%2B4294963125%26Ne%3D11%26Nr%3DAND%2528p_Record_Type%253AI%252Cp_Fare_Code%253ABF%2529%26Nu%3Dp_Key&older=no&latitudes=no&location=Where+do+you+live%3F

Questions - which cabin will be best space for value option for us? We like a seperate bedroom if possible. I would encourage you to check out the 2-Bedroom suites. You will have all the privacy you need, as will your boys, plus you will enjoy all the suite perks. If it's within your budget this is your best bet, in my opinion. Do they allow a lot of smoking on NCL? Smoking is permitted on all balconies, on open decks in designated areas, and in the casino. I think thats it for now! Hoping we might see the rockettes on board! :D Book the first cruise of the month, and you will! Every time we've sailed to Bermuda, I've gotten off the ship, looked at my husband and said "That was too short, I wanna go back right now!" :D

With four of you it should be about the same price as two balcony cabins, with all the suite perks, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.. Can't beat NCL suites. Rare ladylemondrop Posted April 18, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Great suggestions thank you! I too think one week is just too short, in my experience, its the last five days of a two week cruise i really reeeeelax! Great tip about the Rockettes, thanks!:)

Rare Turtles06 Posted April 19, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 19, 2013 Do they allow a lot of smoking on NCL? Since you say you are used to Celebrity, I think you will find NCL to be smokier. The casino, for example, is often impossible to breathe in. And you could have smokers on the balcony next to yours, etc. I'm a big fan of NCL, but not of their smoking policy. We took our first Celebrity cruise last year, and it was literally a breath of fresh air. That said, you'll be docked for nearly three days in Bermuda and off the ship much of that time.... Have a great trip!
bluesea777 Posted April 19, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2013 Take a B2B Bermuda cruises. Spend the first week sightseeing and the second week beach hopping! Actually we are thinking of doing B2B on Breakaway - Bermuda and Bahamas - strange but we want to be on ship sailing into and leaving Bermuda.
